imo, if you tune the snare so that the two heads resonate at a consonant interval, then the ring won't sound bad at all...

This has been the best sounding snare I have found on youtube next to the Sonor 6x14 cast bronze artist signature. Lucky you!!! Wish I had me one of those!! Great snare dude!

Gotta say, I love this snare totally unmuffled. It has the most epic piercing, almost banshee wail quality to it. Listen to cunning stunts, Metallica, to catch what I mean.

Finally someone who knows how too tune a snaredrum

and play it good and record it very well .

AND FINALLY someone who knows how to muffle the top head .

Just enough to keep it from ringing .

Drummers , if you like that horrible ring , go sit by the phone .

Mostly a snare drum is a backing instrument and should not

be sonicly dominant ( drumsolo's not included ) .

If you can't play the snaredrum without the ringin' , stop playing !

@tamalexis I like a warm, resonant snare drum. Does that mean I like a "crappy" snare sound? No. Please realize that different people like different sounds, and regardless, it should fit into the music well.

Cool snare, it has a nice crack to it on the rim shots. Would be cool to hear it without the moon gel on the top too.
