  • Super easy..thanks!

  • will you make a seasoning if you have plain breadcrumbs

  • @LopsidedCircle You may make stuffing with plain breadcrumbs if you will add poultry seasoning or sage, to taste, and then add enough chicken broth for it to be very soupy. Then bake at 350 for 30 to 45 minutes. (If your breadcrumbs are very fine, it would be best if you add half soft breadcrumbs, like loaf bread or biscuit crumbs.)

  • you mean "welcome to my kitchen?"

  • Does anyone no if these are the same type of fries as popeyes??? man I really wanna make those! ;(

  • @mrheadbanger71 I hope someone has an answer for you. I've never been to Popeye's, but they very well could serve seasoned fries like these.

  • could u use raw potatoes? instead of frozen potatoes?

  • @Ruchine10 Yes, raw potatoes are fine--just allow enough cooking time.

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen okay thank you. do you have a estimate amount of cooking time?

  • @Ruchine10 I would estimate about 20 to 25 minutes at 350 degrees (F).

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen Thanks so much!

  • betty ur fries are the best!!!

  • @p2thetree Thanks for your sweet comment! I really appreciate it!

    --Betty :)

  • looks deli, gona try that !

  • you are so fine, Betty

  • Ooh! Ooh!!!1111 Betty-san, can you use pancake mix too.

  • @rubyjuly94 Yes, you may use pancake mix for the coating, if you like.

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen Have you tried it with pancake coating? I love your way better, pancake coating doesn't sound to tasty to me.

  • @BlaQWuhMyn I haven't tried these with pancake coating, but that sounds interesting!

    --Betty :)

  • Great video Betty, thank you very much!! I was wondering if theres a substitute to egg to coat the potatoes. Will corn flour work by any chance?

  • @taryn4080 You can use cornflour. You need some liquid (maybe milk or buttermilk or plain yogurt) to get the coating to stick.

    --Betty :)

  • Thank you so much for your video Betty! Though I wonder, would it work I were to use real potatoes instead of the frozen ready packed ones?

  • Really cool video!!! My mouth was watering just looking at it! I think its a great idea that you're making cooking videos like this! Great recipe!!!

  • Nice vid. Quick question: how would the prep. differ using sweet potatoes?

  • @afplyr05 Thanks! You can use the same coating for sweet potatoes.

    --Betty :)

  • Did she say 28 pound package?

  • @seeker502 It's a 28-ounce package. Note: You can always see the complete recipe by clicking the down arrow or "More info" near the video.

    --Betty :)

  • im not gonna lie the food look really good i got hungry just looking at it

  • @imjerman Thanks for the great feedback! I really appreciate it! The raw potatoes are a good idea!

    --Betty :)

  • hi betty,i love your videos, but i have a question if i dont find seasoned bread crumbs, with what to I season the plain bread crumbs?

  • @amnch07 You can mix up some herbs that you like--or you can usually find "Italian seasoning" and then you can just use that. If you are mixing your own, I would choose oregano, basil, and parsley.

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen thanxs a bunch, and i want to them with raw potatoes soo how should i do them?

  • @amnch07 Just peel the potatoes and slice them into the size you want. Boil them for about 8 minutes before continuing with the recipe.

    --Betty :)

  • dang betty you make everything look good when you make it,(: i wish you could cook for me every day! -macie

  • stoner heaven!!!!!

  • Konnichiwa (hello) Betty!!

OMG those fries looked soooo good!!!

Do you think instead of using store-bought frozen fries, does making this recipe will be okay if i used fully grown potatoes? Do i have to cook them first before coating them?

  • @rubyjuly94 Yes, it would be great to use your own home-grown potatoes. Just cook them most of the way done, then slice them into chunky slices, coat them, and bake them! They should be great!

    --Betty :)

  • yum-o

  • omg. i'm drooling

  • yumm :)

  • yess i shall make some 2nite!!!

  • these look delicious! can't wait to try them. thanks for the recipe Betty!

  • Looks good :) I love crispy fries!

  • Hi Betty, maybe you can help me/ I do the breaded coating recipe alot because i'm trying to eat beter, but when i do the breading burns really bad in the oven. Do you know why.? Maybe the rack is to hi up, but i have it on a good temperature.

  • @MsNotforsale The rack may be too high up. What you can do is put your food in the center of the oven, and put a sheet of aluminum foil on the top rack. This should keep the breading from burning.

    --Betty :)

  • made this today with raw potatoes, delicious ^ ^ (but i need to increase the temp from 400 to 415 to make it really really crispy). thanks betty. btw i am a new subscriber and a beginner in cooking.

  • @chocotruffles Thanks for the wonderful feedback! I hope you find a lot of recipes that you enjoy!

    --Betty :)

  • @chocotruffles hey, u used raw potatoes, did u do anything to them or just cutted them, breaded them and baked them?

  • @amnch07 i used raw potatoes cut them like french fries. only did this recipe once but it was yummy ^ ^

  • I really enjoy watching your videos. Are you going to do a crepe video anytime soon? Have a wonderful day Betty.

  • I will probably be doing crepes, but it won't be very soon--I have a very long request list! Thanks for asking, and thanks for watching my channel!

    --Betty :)

  • Hi MRS betty its me again once again I wanna thank you for such wonderful meals ok what I wanted to ask u do the steak fries gotta be brought seasoned all ready

  • No, the steak fries do not need to be seasoned already. Just take them as they come, and follow the steps of the recipe!

    --Betty :)

  • These look sooo yummy.... but could you prepare these then freeze them so you could use them at any time?

  • Yes, you can freeze them and use them later. I like to heat them in aluminum foil in the oven after they have thawed, but you may microwave them, if you are in a hurry!

    --Betty :)

  • that refrigerator looks a lot like mine.

  • I love this refrigerator! I think we both made a good choice!

    --Betty :)

  • looks delish!!

  • Thanks so much!

    --Betty :)

  • I fixed these last night with your Coney Island BBQ Hot Dogs and the fries turned out nicely. They were good for something new to try.

  • Oh, I'm glad you tried these, too! They are a change to the regular fry! Thanks for your great feedback!

    --Betty :)

    --Betty :)

  • hey betty,

i will try this. my problem with store bought fries is i can't get them crunky. i cook them and they seem soft and not to tasty. iwould have never thought of this. i will try this :) thanks so much.

  • Hi Ben! I think these will come out crispy for you! Thanks for your nice comment!

    --Betty :)

  • This would go great with some burgers.

  • Yes, see my "Square Deal Hamburger Recipe." I think you will like it! Thanks for the comment!

    --Betty :)

  • Hi Betty..just wanted to tell you since I've been watching your great videos, I have dropped about 8lbs in a few months. Have not changed my exercise routine or anything else. You have helped me so much to learn to cut the fat in so many ways! Thanks so much! My bottom thanks you too!

    Sally

  • Thanks so much for your sweet comments! I'm so happy that "cutting the fat" is working for you! That's what I continually do, and I never feel deprived or that anything is off limits--I just watch portions and take note of how much fat /sugar I'm eating and decide whether it's worth it to me to have to work off any extra pounds I might add! it's really a simple idea, and not hard at all. If I ever feel hungry for something decadent, I just eat something healthy first and take a small portion!-B

  • I have to try these. They look soooo good. I would add melted cheese and bacon, forget low-fat LOL. By the way, I took some of your cheese cakes to work and they LOVED them. Thanks.

  • The melted cheese and bacon sounds great! You know I don't do low fat always--just occasionally for viewers who want that. I'm glad your mini cheese cakes came out great--most people *do* love them! Thanks for the sweet feedback!

    --Betty :)

  • i do something just like , with curry powder, or chili powder. somethimes when i want something hot i combine cayenne, garlic powder, chili powder, and fresh chilis that me and my dad grow in our backyard! it tastes great!

  • Alex, those flavors sound wonderful! You have a knack for putting the right foods together. Please keep up your cooking channel. You are going to be great!

    --Betty :)

  • betty ...

we need to get you peeling some potato's :P

I've seen instant mashed and store bought fries so far.

  • Well, you can check my Homestyle Mashed Potatoes, Scalloped Potatoes with Cheese, Potato Soup,Potato, Broccoli, and Cheese Soup, just to name a few off the top of my head. The last time I did fries in the oven, I used fresh potatoes, and I wanted this dish to be different (to offer more options), so I used frozen steak fries. I'm sure you know that a lot of my audience is composed of people who are learning to cook, or have no time to cook, so they are looking for "quick & easy!" Keep looking!B

  • haha

I'm just messing with ya ....

  • I knew you were, but I thought you might be giving the impression that I only open packages. I've been cooking since I was 12, so that's about 48 years, and I've picked up a few ideas along the way. YouTube is a strange audience--anywhere from requests for gourmet fare to "How do I make rice?" --And, being me, I try to please everyone. I guess I should just try to please myself!!! Thanks for your continued viewing and for your input! i really do appreciate it!

    --Betty :)

  • dang girl.....you're a video making/cooking maniac

    ;p

    hahaha

  • Yes, sometimes I wonder how I am ever going to slow down--I get so many requests, and I have so many favorite recipes, plus new ones that I think of, that my supply seems endless! But, cooking is my biggest hobby!

    --Betty :)

  • I usually try to stay away from fries because they are so high in calories, but this recipe would surely lower the calorie content because they are baked as opposed to fried that fatty oil. Thanks Betty! :)

  • Yes, these are very much lower in fat! They also are seasoned, so that's a little bonus! Thanks for your comment!

    --Betty :)

  • These fries look great! I am going to try to make them this week. The hamburgers that you had plated looked delicious! Do you have a video for the hamburger recipe? I couldn't find it.

  • The hamburger recipe was loading as you made this comment! It is live now--I hope you enjoy both of them! We thought they were great! Thanks for your compliment on the fries! I hope you like the hamburger as much!

    --Betty :)

  • We love this recipe! It's as good as French fries--with no guilt! Thanks for your sweet comment!

    --Betty :)
