I have an old specialized bike from the 70s or80s it's the crossroads and it's still in one piece it's an awsome bike, I also have an old religh or rolley however it's spelled and that bike is awsome 2! Just need to work onthe gears a lil bit they r kinda messed up.
ok this guy obviously has a personal vendetta against Specialized. It's one thing to mention it for a few seconds then drop the point, but this guy drones on about how much Specialized bikes suck for almost 2 god damn minutes. Yes, some have problems, but I've never know an owner of any high end bike who's had one fall apart in the way this guy is talking about. What an ass.
@ShenmueAtheist Well, to play devil's advocate, he later on mentions the point that "they are not alone by the way". At the Trek bicycle factory they have some of the carbon frames Lance cracked. They are pushing the envelope on these things. Basically they keep building 'em and when they stop breaking, that's the design they use. Also consider some of the controversial catastrophic failures in sailboat racing, when their carbon fiber mast cracks in a medium level storm.
i have a ten year old hard rock sport thats been ridden hard by two men over six and a half feet tall and with maintenance it still rides like a motherfucker
I personally am a Specialized rider. I've owned Giant, Trek, and Fuji. For some reason I just love Specialized, to each is own, good luck on your brands, there's no real top one at all. They're all competitors and good.
What's with all the brand loyalty? I've had a bianchi, specialized, giant, avanti, trek, cannondale, yeti...yeah, some brands are better than others, but as long as it gets you out riding and having fun - who gives a crap!
Ya im with dieselcase But I have 2 addmit i boutght a 2007 Specialized hardrock sport and its a really good bike but specialized NEEDS to put better forks on them SERIOUSLY i cracked the crown so bad that the bike shop was going to hang them on the wall
Cmon guys it doesnt matter if is a specialized, or a trek, or a giant... Cmon dont lose the spirit of MTB get fun with the friends or with yourself, this guy really dont know how fun is spending some time with his bike
guys stop fighting about which bike is best and whats the best material, a bike is a bike, you may spend £5000 of a specialized or a giant etc. But you've still got to pedal the bugger. Ive got a £550 Bianchi and im just as fast in time trials as people on really expensive high tech machines. Its more about the rider than the bike.
You can tell who works for Specialized in these comments! Are you scare that if you don't post a good comment about the company, Sinyard will have your balls!! I thought so- grow some new balls.
Like you would know. For your information, Specialized sponsored teams were riding all-carbon frames on Paris Roubaix when Trek was having wet dreams about that. And the first year that Discovery rode enhanced carbon versions on that race Hincapies's fork broke like a twig.
dude...i own a SX Trail and the thing is bombproof...i'm saving for a BigHit cause i'm getting into bigger shit and just need more travel but my SX Trail is still the shit and thats why i rep Specialized
I got a specialized hard rock disc sport, if it can hold up to me doing 8 foot drops 20 foot gaps and almost 50mph downhills specialized apparently did something rite. A xc bike doing DH, freeride stuff, and STILL WORK, then they must have mads something rite.
i've been thinking about getting that. i dont like how the cables are exposed at the bottom. i'm thinking of gettin the 08 HRXC or the 07 hardrock disc. which one should i get?
I ride a Specialized Allez, and it's the best bike I've ever owned, aside from my Cannondale :) I have not had one problem. No discrepancies in manufacturing. None.
You're behind a company that attacks (lawsuit) a much smaller company because they think that "Stumptown" is too close to "Stumpjumper", and should be considered copyright infringement? Mountain Cycle, the maker of the "Stumptown" is based in Portland Oregon. Portland is Stumptown. It's an old nickname. Is that what good businesses do?
Actually the small companies are douchebags for copying from Specialized. Did you ask yourself what is the most copied rear shock linkage in the world (hint: fsr).
For your information, a mention of a lawsuit towards Mountain Cycle was not in the letter from Specialized (you probably didn't see it though) and there was no actual lawsuit.
Which incident are you talking about? Stumpjumper or FSR? If you're handing out information, try being specific. And why so defensive of Specialized? You own stock or something?
Go to bikeportland(dot)org. Type "Specialized" and "Stumptown". Look at the first thing that comes up. Then come back and tell me that wasn't a dick move. I'm not saying their bikes are crap. I'm saying they are a bunch of douches. We done yet?
looks like they need to recall some Roubaix frames...
