Got his autograph at homecoming night at allegany college on a program i new he would b a star in the nba. if not for family problems and knee injuryies he would b included in the top 50 all time flat out scored and ppl didnt take note to his defense on the other end
i...did not kno...he wuz dat cold..in high skoo...shulda known...but didnt. i didnt like his game in da league tho. thot he wuz great jus didnt like his game
Steve lost his passion for the game. He made so much money that he doesnt have the desire to do anything but go through the motions. He would talk smack back to the Garden fans when he was on the bench. Check out the dvd Ball Above All and they show Steve playing Summer League ball after his first year in the NBA.
I know it's a bit of a bias, since I'm a young terps fan, but athletically and skill wise I still haven't seen a better INDIVIDUAL player in College Basketball. You're talking about a 6'3" equivalent of MJ at his prime. FUCK JJ Reddick. All he does is shoot threes. Good luck being a stupid 6th-12th man ala Steve Kerr.
Definitely one of the most underrated players in his prime. I hope he can make a comeback. the nba talent level and excitement is on a sharp decline very few players play for the love of the game anymore its all about getting that money and they fall off when they get it. If it wasn't for the injuries Steve Francis keeps going thru he would be one of the top guards in the league and he still gots it in him.
before the draft, before the trade to the rockets before the reebok deal, before the alleys and oops with cat mobley , before the 2000 dunk contest, before the all star votes, before the trade to the magic, the knicks, portland, and back to the rockets...steve francis was sick... in high school and in college
He only had played in his sophomore year. Then ent on to Juco for two years, transfered to Maryland for his junior year, then became a monster in the league at his prime.
Holy crap I'm on YouTube again, as is my footage. When Steve was at Allegany (the footage with the red wall padding), I was the camera man under the basket on the left end of the basket. I LOVED shooting Steve Francis fast breaks, and even moreso, the moves when he dunked on 2 or more defenders.
His vertical was just so amazing for a guy that isn't particularly tall by NBA standards. Miss those days.
shut tha hell up. u werent there cuz tha guy where yur talkin bout usually takes pics for tha skool newspaper or basketball websites. tha people who film tha games stay in tha bliches u cumpulsive lyer
If the people filming the game stay in the bleachers, why are there six shots from under the basket, Brainiac? We shot with three cameras for television. One in the bleachers on a platform, and two hand-held cameras (one under each basket.) You can see me in the bleacher shot dumbass.
i go to allegany college now and i always went out and watched him there when he played for a year when i was a kid...he would always stay after the games and do dunks for the kids.. pretty cool experience.
he didnt double dribble, watch real close as he did a hesitation dribble but brought his right hand real close like he was going to pull up for a jumper
Gotta agree with ya Crew saw alot of Steves games at ACM 1 word sums up the games I saw there since iam from there UNBELEIVABLE well maybe alot more for that matter

Besides Juan Dixon, I would definitely consider Steve Francis to be one of the best players to come out of the University of Maryland.
