@susceotible, i know but i think when serena started threatening masha's serves, the latter started losing confidence and as what they say, when maria has her serves the rest of her game is there! and apparently, she didnt have her serve and didnt help that she competed against a very determined, hungry opponent!
and powerful from the baseline, and when her serve is on, she is very tough to beat. So get a life. What exactly have you acheived in whatever you do? I know, NOTHING. So fuck off. Sharapova is the best!!!
I dont understand how sharapova could lose 6-1,6-2 to serena because she was playing great in this match. i was hoping for a competitive match between her and serena.
Shriekapova lost to Serena that badly cause: 1. She's not as good as her titles make her out to be, if people played a more consistent and careful game against her, she'd be losing all the time. And 2. Serena was on the ball in that match, it was one of her best performances ever! There wasn't a single player in the world that would have beaten Serena playing the way she did that day. That and Serena has Shriekapova's number, hence the 6-1 6-1 loss to her in Miami.
@FilboFox I know serena would win cause it was one of her best performance. but still I was hoping sharapova would gave a better match. cause I know both player were so damn talented. but still I think serena would win.
@FilboFox You are an asshole!! Maria is awesome. She has won 3 grand slams and 22 career titles, most players would even dream to have that much at the age of only 23, that and her amazing mental toughness makes her one of the best players out there right know. And so what if she grunts? Wow, have you like ever heard Venus or Serena Williams? And everybody loses to Sharapova cause they don't play consistent enough? Really? No, you idiot. they lose because Maria doesn't give up, she is strong
@susceotible Serena didn't allow her to play. Sharapova had serving issues the entire tournament, but Serena was the only player who really exploited them. And, as we've seen more and more recently, Maria needs her serve to beat the top players.
@susceotible if her serve hadn't deserted her in the first few games things might have gone differently, though I suspect Serena was just playing too well. It was the match of Serena's life, she was just hitting winners out of nowhere.
@theirland Serena hasn't "abandoned tennis" Did she tell you this personally? I didn't think so. She has been injured but she will be back and she will still be the best, in fact better than ever. Kim better win all the slams she can while Serena is away because that'll be her only chance.
@susceotible Because Serena at that time was WAY more mentally tougher than Kim was.......and as everyone should know that once you stand up to Maria, she doesn't have a tendency to become mentally fragile herself.
@TWDtv well maybe. but if both player were to play well I guess it would have been a great match eventhough serena is more likely to win. dont you think so?
No I think 2004-2005-2006 were sharapova's best seasons ..!!And of course the begining of 2008 when she had a 18-0 record until Indian Wells..and indian wells was in march(I think:S)
She didn't play awesome, Kim played awful. She made something like 60 unforced errors. Hingis was in a position to win but she couldn't get it done against an opponent playing at her worst. That's not inspired.
sharapova will never get this form back , sad, sad. masha we miss your tennis !

Okay, Sharapova's great, but she takes WAY too much time for the serve.

@StewNWT Yeah. what I was saying is that I knew Serena is going to win no matter what. but it might have been a competitive match.
susceotible 1 year ago
@StewNWT Serena has actually had better matches against tougher opponents for her, like Venus.
Venus gave Serena the problems that Maria really could never bother Serena with if Serena brought at least her B plus game.

@susceotible Because Serena Williams is no Kim Clijsters. Serena is better than Kim on one of her average days in my opinion.

@TheFever77 Kim wasnt even playing well around this time either.

@TheFever77 She was, in the past. Now Clijsters is much better. Serena i think abadoned the tennis.

Great match of Maria, but Kim had already the head with the retirement, too!
criskomg 2 years ago
One of the best matches of Maria I've ever seen. It was a total demolition of Kim. She could've won a few more slams if she was healthy.

Hingis played like a dog in the quarters against Hingis. Sharapova would have demolished her.

Lol she could have played really bad against herself, that she would have won the match anyway hahaha
