You did not proff your video. You did not even mention, yet tell the viewer to instal, and how to install the SDK Manager. This seems to be a HUGE step that you casualy mention as to "where" to install it. BTW there is no way of directing it where to install. What do you do with it after installation? What does it have to do with the Captivate? You have a giant step compleatly missing here. Can you please fill us in?

you don't really need sdk.. what i did was i paste the update.zip into my internal memory card.. turn off my phone.. reboot my phone press volume up and down and power button at the same time.. at the recovery mode.. choose reinstall packages then press power button and it will begin the installation.. and after the instalation the phone will automatically reboot and you're done.. to confirm it's rooted.. check if the superuser permission app is in the phones apps drawer.. :)

4. copy all the data from within and paste it outside this sub folder(paste it in the main folder androidsdk)- then delete the sub folder.

5. download JDS (Java development software)- not a must (thats what the forum says, i did it anyways.)

6. Then mount the phone on the computer and do exactly what the daily apper says... :)

Preliminary Data: (What I did)

1. Make a folder called androidsdk in the C drive

2. Download SDK for android from the internet.

3. Extract the file in the folder you just made. You will get a subfolder in this folder called android-sdk-r07-windows.

This is a 2 step process. First follow the above video. You will know that you have root if you can see the "superuser permissions" icon in your applications page. You need this first. Next, look for the video to install 3rd party apps. You need to spend 3 bucks to buy a root browser (explorer) from the android store - the root browser lets you see every file on your phone - need to have rooted your phone first. Then you modify a settings file that you can see with the root explor.

You serious need to redo this video and write down what you are going to say in the proper order first.

Multiple times in this video you have a false start in one direction, then tell the viewer that he or she should have done something before this step. Example: You tell the viewer to go to settings>applications>usb settings>turn on usb debugging THEN you mention that they should have "ask on usb connection" on (and you turn off usb debugging on your own phone). Slow down and plan this out

Alright im running this on a mac. I installed the android drivers correctly using terminal and im good there. My problem is when i put the update.zip into the internal drive on my desktop it stays as a folder. I rebut it and click reinstall packages i get a error saying :E. cant openm /sdcard/update.zip.
