  • that roger's voice is amazing

  • He laughs WAY too much!

  • before you poo poo it

  • @ZebraLuver2340 idk why he said that he is suppossed to say before you 2 both blew it

  • The guys who play Roger and Mark in this are decent but I love Adam and Anthony. I was luck to be able to see them when they reprized their roles a few years ago. Idk I've listened to the original cast and I loved them so much better, for the exception of the girl who played Mimi, I didn't really like her. I loved Rosario Dawson playing her in the movie. But that's just my opinion.

Angel: "That boy could use some prozac,"

    Roger: "Or heavy drugs!!"

    Mark: "Or group hugs,"

    Lol I love this play

  • "...Or group hugs! :D" 2:23 Love you, Adam Kantor.

  • good song

  • i think this benny is amazing, hes supposed to be this arrogant type character, since he was the original benny off broadway he got to work with jonathan larson who knew exactly how he wanted this character portrayed. i think he got it right

  • @ALLIELUVS21

Sorry, are you saying that Rodney is the original Off Broadway Benny, or the original Broadway Benny? If you mean the latter, that is incorrect. Taye Diggs is the original (and much better, imo).

  • Benny's stripy jumper makes everything better.

  • I met Benny today!!!!! he came to teach a master class and we are doing the production of rent this year and he inspired me and the whole cast to really BE our charactures. He is an amazing guy... and is sooooooo tallented. I think mmy friends that met him today would say the same =)

  • "That boy could use some prozac."

    "Or heavy drugs"

    "Or group hugs!"

    This made me LOL

  • "This boy needs rozac."

    "Or heavy drugs"

    "Or group hugs!"

    This made me LOL

  • i like this angel......where do they keep finding these cute talented guys lol?

  • Now, when Angel says "Boys like me.", does she mean:

    1. boys in general like me?

    2. You (collins) like boys like me?

  • @JTROCKAA494 option number two.

  • @JTROCKAA494 Collins.

  • I thought Collins was the one that said "Let it be Boys" Hump! Guess I was wrong lol

  • I'm playing Benny in RENT at the moment - I gotta say, this guy does my head in! I agree he's too goofy.

  • I am fascinated by Angel's "Roger" line which can be taken in so many directions. The version I saw on the tour (with this angel I think) was an almost comforting line. I like that best but I find it so interesting to hear the different versions.

  • It's very entertaining to watch Angel throughout this scene. =]]]

  • This Benny has such an incredible voice. Love it.

  • I love the happy birthday in this version XD 0:50

  • Haha, did you see at 1:56, Angel hold up her drumsticks like a cross warning off Benny...I never noticed tht before

  • Ahhh, Angel is so great!

  • "You'll see boys"

    "I like boyys"

"Boys like me" =] why'd they take that part out of the movie?

  • @PeaceNdLovee cuz they weren't in that scene in the movie. the movie had to do things a lot differently cuz the flow of the musical couldn't work in a movie format

  • @PeaceNdLovee Bcause that song, in the movie, is at the very beginning, bfore Angel even meets Collins...

  • That boy could use some Prozac! lol my favorite part

  • The guy who plays Benny has pretty shotty vocals. Everyohne else was fantastic! Poor Angel...

  • =O.O= omg, Benny peeked under Angel's skirt! AHAHAHA!!! X3

  • "i like boys"

    "boys like me"

    omg sooooo Angel xd

  • Bah! I think this Benny's too goofy. I mean, he's pretty funny, but I don't think his antics really fit the character.

  • i most definately agree.

  • @N30Soldier I think that he's comfortable enough to do it shows how he used to be friends with them and adds something to his character, though he is overdoing it a bit

  • you are so right

  • @N30Soldier in this version he seems more cocky than nasty.

  • Justin is so freaking amazing!

  • I LOVE RENT!!!!!!!!! <3

I Wish I could of seen RENT live before they stoped showing it on brodway. =(

    oh well ..........<3

  • they still show it off broadway. It just visited my town and I saw it on stage. It was amazing. btw, do benny and collins HAVE to be portrayed by african american men? or can they be played by white men? I'm just wondering because I created a cast list, using the cast of the musical i did junior year, who would play what part if we had done RENT instead of LES MISERABLES. We have no black guys at our school who do theatre or anything like that so that's why i ask.

  • @DeathGodRiku no they don't have to be African American

  • they don't I'm playing Benny and both me and Collins are white

  • Well, every person who's played Benny and Collins have been African American. BUT! What I do know, Mimi and Angel have to be Latin.

  • Joanne has also been African-American. But Benny, Collins and Joanne don't HAVE to be African-American. I've seen some professional community theaters have a white Collins and a white Joanne, but an African-American Benny.

  • @kayandmiguel21

    I agree with you..

there should be no much worries about the race of the performers in certain place, who ever is fit for the part should take it I think... yes, the main idea in Rent is in having lots of races as to include everyone exactly like the cosmopolitan big apple but I think casting can be flexible.

  • Thanks. :) I'd give anything to be in RENT as either Roger or Angel. I even dressed up as Angel once.

  • @kayandmiguel21 I know how you feel. I auditioned and was called back for Angel, Mark and Benny. But I unfortunately didn't any of them =(

But I would LOVE to be mark in a production

  • @kayandmiguel21 I'd love to play Mimi! Or any female lead in this show, really, they're all similar voiceparts.

  • @kayandmiguel21 It's like my LIFE DREAM to be Mimi in a production of RENT.

  • @ramsesthethird2 Yea, it's all about the voice. That may fall into a stereotype but there are some who might break it.
