Bought my spirit after I saw your video, have it 3 years now and going for a ride to France this year, have made long ride with it, never had any problems, its from 2007 so my seat is is nicer, it curves over the rear fender. tks for your video.
amazing bike:] im about to turn 16 and iv been saving up alot of cash from jobs and crud for a shadow spirit 750, anytimes for a young rider on this bike? alot of other people said its a good first bike for young riders and new riders. anytips or opinions you have on the bike that might help keep a young man safe:]? thanks! nice bike again!
@ChelseaFCisNo1 i have good taste in bikes and cars after all i race them and have grown up with them, plus this is just a bike to get use to and have fun with then ill save for a ducati.
@JackyswaTv I got a Ninja for my 15th b'day but its not my thing really. Cant say anything though the rents bought it so im stuck with it for now but i do have a wicked ride. My uncle gave me his Jaguar XKr coupe 2009 but i cant drive it till i turn 16 in Dec.
@ChelseaFCisNo1 yea im not in to the main sort of lay down form of bike, its nice just to sit normally and relax keep a new style look in ot it but aswell the older form witch i think its great.
@JackyswaTv They didnt know what they were buying they just guessed Im a martial arts freak buy him a ninja. Oh well. My dream bike is a tricked up fat boy low with a ton of chrome.
@ChelseaFCisNo1 yep, but iv been saving for a bike, plus my father and I both know the vice president of honda so hoping he'll give us a small deal hope my father will help but i have 3.6 grand saved of my own for it, then i plan on taking it from east to west coast and back before i head off in the military.
@JackyswaTv Well sounds like u already got enough to get it either as a down payment or a lease so that shouldnt be a prob. The trip itself though is gonna need cash dude. That distance unless u gonna camp out most nights is gonna get big money. Hey man Im sorry we ever had a argument dude.
@ChelseaFCisNo1 yea thats why I hope to let my father pay for a good bit of the motorcycle to kinda like help me be able to pay for my trip but i also have a lot of close family spread through the USA and they've said they'd love for me to stay with them so yea: p free nights lol.and yea I'm sorry we've had a fight aswell.
@JackyswaTv Thats cool man very cool. I dont like fighting Im like so super happy most of my friends hit me and throw shit at me cause im annoyingly happy. But dude u MUST read this book "zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance" by robert pirsig b4 u go. dude u gotta get someone 2 go with u and camp out most nights.
@JackyswaTv dude its cool ! :) i aint a chick flick guy we got pissed at each other ( probably mostly newportbeckers fault cause he got me into 3 fights ) now its just bull. That book though dude will BLOW YOUR MIND serious. Its heavy though but so worth it. I read all 538pgs in 2 days i couldnt put it down.
@JackyswaTv Good luck. My advise, which at my age sounds like it would be from your Father....so sorry about that. Take a cycle safety course. It's a pain, but it will teach you some tricks to stay alive, and handle the bike when there's trash on the road that you don't see until it's too late. Always keep your guard up, since a ton of drivers don't see you.....see them first. I've been riding for 30+ years and still absolutely love it. Good luck.
Hey Russ, Not sure if you remember but we had chatted about a 4,000 mile solo road trip from Mexico to Canada on the Pacific Coast Highway I was going to take on my 2003 honda shadow 750. I just got back and I'm happy to report that my shadow 750 handled like a champ. I had no issues to peak of what so every. I've started posting videos of my trip if you care to check them out. I'm currently on Day 3. Ride Safe Amigo.
Can these Honda Shadow Spirit VT750DC motorcycles sit at idle for a long time in lots of several consecutive stop light sections without overheating? Also, will the engine not overheat in very slow traffic, lasting hours, where air doesn't go through the radiator?
Somehow I think that if Americans would be asked to pay over a thousand dollars for a motorcycle license like the people in the northern EU, they might voice out a moderate difference of opinion...
Honda Shadow is the name of one of the top slots on my life's to-try list.
Awesome Bike. I have an 07 shaft drive one. I stuck a Slipstreamer windshield on mine, and I have a blast with it. Look under my name to see a crappy video of it.
nice bike, im getting one this weekend while the prices are low for winter. not too crazy about the windshield and saddle bag tho, just not my style..you should try taking windshield off..full face helmet kinda eliminates the need for one unless your keeping it for style
Geat bike Russ I have one myself they are awsome.I love your windshield and want the same one for my bike. Is it a Memphis Shade and if so what model?? Thanks
Nice video, thanks for posting. I'm probably going to see and probably buy a gentleman's 2003 Honda Shadow 600 this weekend and this video really helped me out.
Go for at least a 750 if you can...I just got a 03 Shadow Spirit 750 to learn on and I can't imagine having any less power. It's perfect, and you won't grow out of it. Good luck.
Nice Bike, I'm going to be geting a shadow soon... one thing about the video that was disappointing was the music. I love Incubus, but i also love the sound of your bike! i'd pick the pipes! lol
the bike is agreat beginner through advanced user bike. Its a size that isnt too hard to manage for beginners but the engine is powerful enough to make you not want to go out and buy a faster bike once you get the hang of biking, thats the problem with most beginner bikes like the 4spd Honda VLX 600, the 5Spd Spirit 750 has much more power and the 5th gear makes highway cruising not so bad.
LOL. I'm the wrong guy to ask that. When I was 20, I hit 90 mph on a Norton 850. Now that I'm almost 50, I don't have the same need for speed. It easily goes 65-70.
I just changed my rear sprocket to a 37 tooth and I'm getting 60 m.p.g.and can cruise around town in 3rd gear with no problems now and 65 mph in 5th gear is a dream... Not searching for the "Ghost 6th gear" anymore. Nice bike bro... Just like my "07".
I'm getting 52 mpg. I've been filling up at every 100 or so miles. That is without switching over to the reserve tank. It is 3.6 total galons. 2.3 regular tank, and 1.3 reserve. So you should have at least 50 miles if you do switch over.
Really good looking bike,my favorite so far. After going for a few rides would you still recommend it,I was thinking hard about buying this same model and size.
hey russ, can you tell me what type of wiindsheld you got there and the mounts?

Yeah, Russ, pretty cool!
I'm looking here 'cause I have an upright naked bike and am uncomfortable on cold, gusty, night rides, even with a good jacket & gloves.
I'd like to try a Shadow; it's a good size for me. The bigger displacement cruisers are also very heavy & use more gas.
Watching you ride this makes me lean more towards a light cruiser.
Thanks for posting it!
