  • I hope you guys didn't scrap that ol beaut.

  • its history from detroit!

  • Looks like some thing from the wrong turn!

  • what did you do with it before you tried to start it?

  • Finger Up, To those who think the camera man, fall down at 0:43 :)

  • Thats the way to do it! Thats how I got my 1942 M3A1 scout car. Going. Pulling 6 tons of steel is a challenge. But fun

  • nice patina but for sure not junk would look awesome restored good luck with this truck it will be bad ass

  • Lets cool the engine by placing a with gasoline filled jerrycan in front of the radiator.

  • 0:44 I know how u feel back there xD

  • nice now when will people stop crushing old cars???

found a chest from the 40s someone was going too throw out.. got an offer for 5000$ but i kept it.. has stuff in it so gotta fund out how to lock pick

  • @caoticzoids wear a mask...

  • Best way to start one thats been sitting I think.

  • Its too bad there are people out there who would see this and say its just a piece of junk...But what the fuck do they know...

  • Cool

  • congrats to you sir. well done.

Pleace take care of that peace of american history

  • thats a badass truck nice and rusty

  • Those ole Studs are practically indestructable.

  • revving an engine that has sat that long can blow it up.

That;s a cool old truck, what are your plans?

  • I LIKE it!!

  • Has an oal leack somewhere

  • Hard to fid old tucks like these. I'm one appreciates old trucks & Studebaker made good trucks back in the day. I had an old 54 IH 2 ton with the original engine...truck ran forever. I'll make a killer resto...

  • Unbeliveable!! I had a 1953 studebaker just like this one! it was even red. it was a big 1 1/2 truck with side racks, but it was a flat head engine. That old truck had tons of torque too!!

  • My great uncles used one of these when I was younger around the old saw mill I'm not sure of the model but it looked the same , I think it had a large V8 power plant in it . It still sits a little over a mile from here grown up in the weds . It earned it's keep well back then .

  • Only thing tougher than an ole Stude was an old Dodge. I am glad to see an ole barn wreck get back on its feet. One Question though, Why the pull start, was the Starter stuck? As far as the clowns Dissing your choice and beein asses, dismiss the little turds. Its plane to see these folks havent been around old shit thats been sitting for a while. If you boys think he was hard on this truck, should of seen how rough I was on an old Buick Super with an In line 8. You boys think he was rough LOL,

  • eco truck if its still used after 30 years ,how many trucks to day will still be in use in 30 years time

  • Cool! she's a beauty.. cheers for your hard work :)

  • That is my fav year of studebaker truck awsome beast keep it alive

  • sounds great idling.. gotta love old stuff

  • Damn that thing must of been a joy to ride over bumps lol

  • This is why new cars and trucks will never be as good as the old ones, not just American, but other countries too - most of the good decent trucks and cars of age old are gone - only some of us (like myself) keep the old ones and run them, and look for some poor one in a junk yard needing love - btw - Cash For Clunkers was a BIG MISTAKE.

  • @BehrGoneWild You can say that again.

  • @BehrGoneWild I agree, I'm 15, and soon will be needing a reliable used vehicle, as my parents refuse to buy me something new, which makes sense because I want something that I can take to the timber or in the case of a car, be able to actually drive it. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a vehicle right for me looking back from 10-30+ years ago

  • That's a piece of history right there...I love old trucks....I have a 65 Chevy C20...old trucks rule man....nice video.

  • Studes rule, way ahead of their time! got my 51 runnin when I first got her! opted for small block! camaro cliped, bed shortened 93/4 ", widened 2", be back on road soon! good luck with her!

  • Nice old truck. Shows alot about cars from back in those days.

  • how does the tow start work?

  • @Nightwing690

Its a Manual so you hold the clutch in about 2nd and let off and the wheels will drag and make the trans. turn the engine over....

  • I have never even heard of these trucks before and wow you got a piece of living history right there. Glad to see it running :)

  • Comment removed

  • haha I have a 1956 Stude pickup thats been sittin in a field since 1986 and we just put a new battery in it and it fired right up yesterday and runs perfect...good old trucks!

  • Thats going to be an awsome truck when you restore it . The engine still sounds strong . the more you run the motor the better it will get , my 53 chevy pickup truck did the same thing

  • ah good old Studebaker

  • where u bump starting it ?

  • well atleast it runs

  • pretty sweet

  • i think the video is pretty funny myself, its cool to see old trucks run again. it just sucks that people have to come on here and say negative crap that they dont know anything about.

  • @riddler626 They leave neg comments becouse there jelouse . They cant have a classic so they try to down those who can..

  • An absolute thing of beauty! Thanks for sharing.

  • Not exactly a Toyota Prius, is it? (kidding) Seriously, that is a fine truck and I'm happy that you got her running again!

  • its nice to see you got to get it running and going after it sat for that long

  • Its good restoring a old truck but this truck have a engin Job ,ring piston beacode he take oil. E copel of money

  • i must say, nice job, i like to see that someone would take the time into starting an old vehicle that has been sitting there for thirty years. i like it a lot man. Great Job!!!

  • With old trucks like that you gotta double clutch. Those old trucks took allot of punishment back in those days. No 4X4 no syncro gears or power steering or much for safety and it as cold blooded as hell. Nothing what a few upgrades can't fix.

  • Sweet!

My high school ride was a 1961 Studebaker Cruiser IIIV

    with a 259 V8 Nothing beats a Studebaker!

PS. I still have a 1955 Studebaker pressident, rotting in the wood's at my folk's house V8,P/S, P/B, Automatic trany. Any one mite give it a good home? or use it to build a live one? let me know.

  • i had 2 1949 trucks good old trucks not many left

  • Thats a nice truck. Runs great.

  • good job

  • now thats history coming back to life!

  • no offense but it kinda looks like its from a scary movie or something

  • yall need to learn how to pull a vehicle..all that yankin will break something

  • Cool.

it looks impossible for Russia when all paint peeled. Usually we see the well remained paint and absolutely decayed metal under it :(

  • wow thats awesome!

pull starting it are we? ha ha!!! thats a good way to start a old car like that

  • Well boys and girls they don't make em like they use to... that's for sure, sadly. Nice video.

  • Dude thats Ballin!!

  • 60,000 view...sweet

  • there is a studabaker in CUSTOM CLASSIC TRUCKS NOV,09..and it looks very sharp...i assume the cab would be the same as a half ton i'm not sure ..but either way you have nice find there...and the lady that was helpin ya...god bless not many will do that

  • i did this with a grass track racer that had been sat for 20 years, i pulled it with a landrover discovery and when she eventualy fired the thing was so fast and powerfull that even at idle it over took the discovery and dragged it backwards up the field (the clutch wasnt working so good and neather were the breaks lol)

  • What a find. I'd be over the moon if that came into my hands in that condition.

  • Try THAT with a car from today LOL...never happen!

  • flathead power baby!

  • hhaha nice :)

  • i fing love it!! that is my styl i would get er running just rite and she would be my daily driver...ive done it before with a 46 ford 2.5 ton...and on behalf of bad spellers everywere dont hate men....allthoe the guy is a idiot

  • Seems like anytime I've ever tried this, I wind up running over the rope/chain...did you say it was a "Sturdybaker"?

  • Very reliable truck

  • Does that have a flat six in it? I dont Remember what those trucks had in them.

  • At about 1:26 , you can see the flat head six so the answer would be yes.

  • Awesome video! What do you plan to do with the truck? Are you going to restore it, or fix it up a little bit? Studebakers have always been among my favourite vintage vehicles.

  • How many miles you got on that ole thing

  • Good old fashioned hillbilly entertainment !!

  • pretty cool old truck

  • oh god tht poor trans!!!! the clutch is proboly murdered

  • First of all,You don't worry about it,second, please go back to school and learn how to spell before sending me any comments.

  • wow your harsh

  • @MultiGetitdone So I guess you were there when that truck was new? It can't be a piece of shit,,It doesn't look anything like you.

  • @classicpower07 now now guys lets not fight on youtube

  • @classicpower07 I agree with you haha.

  • @classicpower07 umad bro??????

  • @classicpower07 hold on a sec if its not your truck dont worry about it and if it is YOUR DOING A AMAZING JOB its great that your got it started and moving thats amazing nice work!

  • @MultiGetitdone

Those old studebakers were real work horses, the drive trains were near bulletproof, the frames heavy duty and the body steel was thick. Apparently you dont know a darned thing about the stude flat six. Ive owned several of them and now ONLY drive studebakers. My 55 is a daily driver, unrebuilt and has never let me down. I bet your modern junker wont be kicking in over half a century. This mans truck, will definately still be around.

  • @MultiGetitdone studebakers were great quality vehicals brand new. sorry to break it to ya, but they didnt have ferrari f430's or in ur case, prius's or whatever the plural is for that.

  • @MultiGetitdone

Your full of shit, studebaker was one of the best trucks

  • @classicpower07 don't post videos if you can't take the comments asshole

  • @classicpower07 I liked the video and was about to check out your channel but then when I saw your reply to nick1258. What the fuck crawled up your ass you condescending sloth?

  • @nicks1258 were im from we do this shit everyday and i have never fucked over a 'trans" . p.s thats a sick looking truck bud !!!

  • Jeeze 30 years, it might need an overhaul i dunno. We had a 66 Chevy pickup that used a quart of oil when you drove 20 miles. It had a 283 in it.

  • looks mean i love it

  • It's alive!! It's alive!!!

  • what oil leak?

  • nice got the old beast running too bad it aint a half ton

  • It's a certainty that you don't know much about old cars & trucks. How old are you?...12?

  • If you read my profile i'm 21, and ive restored a 1941 dodge truck from a pile of rust and sheet metal. you can clearly see the rope in that video and you can hear him pumping the shit out of the throttle and the trucks moving at a constant speed until the tow vehicle slows down and the stu doubles over the rope. dumbass

  • Watch the rest of the video where they are DRIVING it around afterwards.

  • yah my uncle has a 50 studebaker he bought in the early 90's he said the sun visors where full to the top with mouse turds

  • i saw this truck on ur sight lol

  • It must have been a lot of fun.

  • is it straight 6 flathead ???

  • Yep, it's a flathead straight six, couldn't get a good enough look to tell if it was a Champion or Commander engine, probably a Champ.

  • Nice truck uve got there, not to mention the condition its in.

  • time for a drag race lol

  • That is quality.

  • this.. is an awsome video.. love the ole truck..

  • low comp engines are almost indestructable.

question?...did it have brakes still? and did you do anything to the carb tap it clean it rebuild so on and so forth

  • "Built Studebaker Tough with Studebaker Stuff" as they say.

  • I am a real fan of the studeybakers,I have one like yours,I amde it into a pick 10foot box repowered it wwith a 350 chevy,I tow a 1947 m15 behind it when I got to the shows, your body looks good I am looking for a good body to put on a 79 chevy frame,I put a 453 detroit in the chevy,I have a 48 5 window chevy was going to put that on the frame but to ugley ,need a 2r16---keep up the good work, think I will put on a video of my two trucks,( got 2 more in the barn)

  • cry me a river

  • your an idiot

  • please, a cows fart is more harmfull than this.

  • 11federal, it is retards like you who have ruined this whole country. Take your air pollution remark and shove it in your ass. You are a moron.

  • i hope you were joking...if not take your 2008 honda put it in a barn and dont start it untill the year 2039 and see how much smoke it makes the rings are getting blow by so its burning oil plus the carb is prob over loading with gasoline after about a month of regular driving most of that will go away after the seals presurize again

  • its burning oil it has dried seals and it has been setting for 30 years

  • It's a flathead engine, no valve seals.

But as you say it's been sitting for 30 years, no doubt the rings are stuck and the cylinder walls a bit rusty. After driving it a bit the rings should loosen up, the cylinders smooth out and the oil consumption should drop WAY down.

  • Why are people giving me thumbs down? I'm agreeing with everyone else to disagree with 11Federal!

  • you dont know very much about this kind of thing do ya

  • I'm an animator not a mechanic. But I do know that unleaded gasoline is less harmful and evnironmentally than leaded. I'm still agreeing with everybody against 11Federal, it annoys when people complain about the air pollution of old cars.

  • What about it? It's not like there are millions of these things all over the highways. That truck sat for decades and this was it's first startup, it's going to smoke. However after a few hours of running the smoke should go away.

And... even if a truck like this is restored (and I hope it is) it's highly unlikely it will be driven more than a few thousand miles a year. Air Force One pollutes more than that just staring it's engines!

  • he already restored it check out his channel it looks sweet

  • BRING BACK LEADED GASOLINE!

  • we can still buy it in the UK in a few select garages for old classics ^_^ unfortuantly it's about $1 a LITRE more expensive. Can't beat it in old cars and motorcycles though, they run so much better.

  • @wallbanger1968 hell no!

  • @11federal one word for ya mac ....dipshit

  • very nice, and I like the sound of the engine

  • it is cute truck

    i would drive one

  • my dads truck is same but it standed for 40 years and today were fixing him up to life!wish me luck guys!

  • kool job guys! My dad and me did the same thing with a 46 Hudson pickup that sat over 30years with the hood opened up for a long time too! wish I would have had a video camera when we got it running, but I can do it again since its been sitting another 15 years now without running, lol! You guys just gave me a new inspiration, THANKS!

  • awesome ! what a resurrection !

  • Good job getting the Sutdebaker going!

  • better than a chevy

  • i always liked studebakers

  • better than a dodge

  • thats ona he collest oldie ive seen 4 a while

    wat model is it?

  • is this a v8 or 6

  • Flathead 6

  • how many mpg? 3? My 1968 Gmc sat for 3 years and it gets 8mpg right now. it sat since 2002-2005. even driving it today it gets 8mpg. with a 305E V6

  • by the way its smokin i would say the rings are probley stuck in the grooves of the pistons

pretty truck though i would hate to put gas in it......i betcha it drinks the stuff =)

  • very cool...I'm restoring a '46 GMC 1 ton flatbed with my dad. i can't wait to have it out for the first drive!

  • hey im restoring a 57 ford f-350 dually its a step side box but im making it a flat bed!!!!!
