  • hmm this isnt fun,,,

  • continued, you here these AMERICANS clapping, your not american, for sure!

  • whom ever wrote about the basic economics course, are you serious," protectionists" where are you from, you moron? what are you 18? If you dont belive what Johns saying, you must be a fu(#ed up little punk! this aint about economics, go ask you dad or grandfather. (if you have one)

  • Go online to Made in USA

  • Come out of the fog Americans, Fair honest trade is the Patriotic way. Don’t be fooled by dishonest people and company's who are greedy and care only in the bottom line how rich they can become at any cost. In human dignity. For they are poor in spirit. They will at times give .00000000000000000000000000000000000001 of what they have to charity. Just to keep you quite. All along supporting slave wages abroad. And wanting us to work for less and less just for the rich can have more and more.

  • check out allamericanclothing Great quality clothes. I just threw away all my clothes made overseas and now wear all 100% made in american clothes.

  • American people should stop buying things that are not made in America. Americans should also stop buying things from American companies which have moved to other countries. If we can't work in their companies, we shouldn't buy from their companies.

  • Let's say 300,000,000 Americans each simply reallocated 1 dollar per day, spending 1 dollar less on foreign-made goods 1 dollar more on American-made goods. (That's $30 per month, per person, and it is not an extra $30 per month, but just where you spend it!) After a year, this would add up to $109,500,000,000. What could the real, productive American economy do with an extra $109.5 billion? How about 2,737,500 new jobs paying $40,000 per year?

  • Also, interesting how he's blaming other countries for military spending, when the US is far far far ahead on that count. How can he keep a straight face? And how can you applaud him for this nationalist crap?

  • Yeah, let's abolish international trade! Everybody go nationalist and only trade within their own borders. If that! Let's only trade within our own city. Let's close borders, forbid tourism (why spend dollars on foreigners?), and never ever have to meet anyone from any other country again!

Or, this dude might be full of protectionist shit.

  • @squallsquallsquall,

The US has grown whenever it has had revenue based tariffs financing its economy and shrunk whenever it hasn't. Maybe when you're bankrupt and starving, you'll admit you're an idiot who doesn't deserve to live in a free country. You'll probably ask somebody like me for some money and a guy will offer you a job. You'll turn it down because you won't know what that is and then you'll just continue to starve until the only job available pays ten cents an hour.

  • @TheFlanker35 Please go take a basic course in economics, then re-evaluate. It's beause of protectionists like Ratzenberger that people starve - free trade makes everyone richer in the long run.

  • @squallsquallsquall,

"Free" trade is usually an illusion. There isn't free trade when it is illegal to own land in Mexico and China, but it is legal for Mexican monopolists and Communist Party leaders to own land in America. The trade policies inherently give foreigners from protectionists countries an advantage which ultimately compromises basic human rights; it promotes relatively totalitarian regimes and also gives them more influence.

There should only be free trade with good gov'ts.

  • These greedy fucks are too cheap to pay a worker minimum wage to take the order at the drive thru. Unbelieveable.

  • Imagine if we ever had to go to war with China. They would make our circuit boards malfunction and refuse to sell us gear for our military.

  • Pure common sense. Thanks John. Nice to know it still exists.

  • Comment removed

  • Blame globalization. The global mega corps are not American and they are not our friends they are in fact our enemy's and seek the destruction of America and freedom and they damn sure don't want a free market. China, Saudi Arabia, and Israel are also part of the problem as are the major defense companies and the Oil companies. Wake the F up!

  • Buying Chinesse crap is only helping to deteriorate our economy, only a hand full of wealthy benefit from it, the question is?

    can we survive.

We deffend our allies, we have a bedt almost impossible to pay, rich don't want to pay any taxes and peoples jobs were imported to the socialist republic of China and India, we as a nation are shoving our heads deep into our rear ends and it's going to get uggly, White, Black and latino all figthing an irrational war while china is becomming an empire.

  • I work at a Giant Eagle. When I first started for the first 6 months, getting 35 hours a week. Then when I was getting my little pay raises, I was gettign less and less hours. Now I am down 16 then finally started getting up to 17 hours. But I am going to need another job to keep up on my bills. Fuck.

  • aww crap...

i was looking for the movie..

  • Minimun wages in china seventy five dollars per month.

That's what we make in a day with minimun wages, can we survive? temporarely yes,ten more years and we will be eating each other, crime rate will go thru the roof cities will colapse starting with California and Nevada, we will make new regulations unfavorable to China and hell is going to break loose,China will invade Taiwan and help North Corea to invade South Corea,we can not afford another war and there's where we are heading good luck!

  • How can we afford another war when all of our armor and war supplies are build in China and in Korea?

  • Do the math people! Its cheeper to pay man who rides a bike and lives with 10 relitives in a hut, than to pay a US worker who has 2 vehicles, a mortgage, and high health care cost. It's not Free Trade! We need Fair Trade.

  • I get the free trade, but instead of making me homeless by giving that job to the 10 relitives in a hut my job you can give them jobs and everyone would be happy.

  • No all Americans have 2 cars. How can they when their jobs are shipped to the guy in that hut? Not all people have mortgages. Can't afford it. Because their jobs are sent over seas. So what if it is cheaper over there. Let America have jobs for Americans.

  • if i shoot an intruder, or when police officers save their own lives (as usually happens - the kid victims are not the norm) i could care less where the bullet comes from.

  • Thank you for posting this! I was fortunate to get to see the Town Hall Meeting hosted by John Ratzenberger held in Columbus, Ohio in November 2007. I left the auditorium completely depressed, and my way of seeing the world has completely changed since that evening. Now, I check labels to see where things are made. I no longer want the non-essentials (i.e. electronics) that I wanted before, because every dollar spent on foreign-made goods is one step closer to our economic destruction.

  • The most critical issue facing our country and our future...

  • You go ask the questions that you like.

  • The ammunition that American police forces use may not be made in America, but who can prove this? Can the kid victim of a cops bullet pull it out and read the engravement that says made in China? The last thing people need to do is stress the importance of making weapons in America. Land mines are made in America and exported to other countries, so why is it wrong for American agencies to import weapons for the police forces use.
