I own a Volt so I can tell you it would be very easy to not spend a penny on gasoline. It only pulls around 13-14 kwh to fill the battery to go about 35 miles in the cold (I got 48 miles once when it was around 70 F outside). Around here power is 8 cents/kwh so it was about $1.12 for me to go 35 miles. It's also much faster and fun to drive with its 273 lb ft. of instant torque! Make sure to create a ton of videos with you and John with the Volts and the pros and cons you find.
