hey guys! it was proven that the new samsung slimfit crt tv!! supports 720p!! just check it in google for those who doesn't believe in me.. i have samsung slimfit crt tv but i dont hook up my ps3 to it but one time i tried it and used the component cables which is the green.blue.red white and another red!!! promise!! and it works fine no downscaling! for those who doesn't believe in me just search it in google "samsung slimfit crt tv supports 720p?". there you go! is costs only $350-400. :))

I had the same issue as you did, you still have your resolution set to the default (you need to have it at 420p - 1080p at the very least) and make sure you don't have the box set to 1080i.

I had some trouble getting the ps3 to change to 420p-1080p, what you do is connect the green (Y) cable to your TV (Doesn't matter which, as long as it has a video input) and connect it to your ps3. Change the resolution to 420p and your screen on the TV should go blank, connect the VGA box, and you're done.

I finally got my VGA box, but I'm having a HUGE problem, instead of having two black bars at the bottom, It's completely Stretched, since my LCD isn't wide screen. What should I do? My monitor won't allow me to adjust the image manually?? It just looks really bad!! :(

ok, I figured this out, the box wont work on a non widescreen LCD monitor PERIOD, so be careful, it works great on my 22" CCRT tho, great quality, but dont expect it to work on a bad quality crt,

The monitor in this movie is not-wide-screen aswell, so it shouldn't stretch as you see. You get 2 black borders on top and on the bottom. Perfect isnt it? :) I wanna get one of these boxes aswell. I have an 19" wide-screen monitor. A lot bigger than my tv :P
