Meier is a fantastic Leonore. She has totall control over her voice. It looks like she sings this difficult aria without any trouble.

i dont know what was up with the last part of the aria at 6:41- 6:44... it was like the pacing was a bit to fast for ehr and so she a skipped a few notes and just headed for the very top... i like hwetop notes... impressive none the less

Amazing! She has really adjusted her technique to the soprano roles she's been singing. She sings more on resonance, keeps the tone more slender in the passaggio and therefore her top has gotten more focused. Brava Waltraud!

this is funny-- fideliop was always her forte along with Kundry, so maybe you jsut woke up.  I saw her singing this in early 80s and really she is tough and always fantastic. Never a bad night for her.
