Like a lot I grew up in the 70's watching J.P. every morning before school. Sadly he announced his official retirement today. He may do an occasional appearance but he said the "zing" is gone. He lived a couple of blocks from my house in those days and I see him now and then at a local Dr's office. He is an Icon. Those kind of shows just don't exist anymore. Thanks for all of the memories J.P. your my hero....
I grew up with JP Patches...and listened once a year while announced my birthday! He is the clown of Washington and I miss him as Im in Florida. Not to mention...where are these good Saturday morning shows now?
I watched the JP Patches show growing up,I was also on the JP Patches show back in 1973 or1974 Mrs. Arlenes studio we were dressed as clowns and jumped out from under mrs arlenes husbands red dress and did cart wheels and back hand springs,My friends told me that the teacher got a tv from the office and put it in the class room so all my class mates could watch me on the JP Patches show. Can i see that show, I didnt get to see it? JP you are the best. Elizabeth Boyovich-Sanderson

@thezaylady I hired JP to be at our high school reunion this past weekend. He came armed with pictures, buttons and Flicks (remember those?). He talked about this incident, and said he thought the numbers would slide out of place a little, not fall off. lol
I remember when that happened!

IIRC, upper management were not happy with Chris Wedes aka JP forthat prank. Harry was a class act. He will be missed.
