@thehoff1982 I've seen pick your poison, yeah they said this was heavily edited to make Jake look as pathetic as possible. Jake says he figured something was up when they didn't invite him to the premiere.

I'm pretty sure Aronofsky took that quote and this segment of the documentary and ran with it. Which I'm glad he did because The Wrestler was an amazing movie. It's sad to see how a lot of these guys have ended up.
