@9SpeedsKid just a fun fact brother hood was actually made before this one it was a manga and was not finished yet so they signed a deal and made this the story was scraped and this was born i think this one does have the best music of the both the only problem with this to me is that greed dies and doesnt come back and as in brotherhood he comes back same no memory of what happend and in lings body so to me this one gets a 10/10
this reminds me of the day one of are horses finally passed the day before he was running happily but then he just collapsed in his stall in so much pain we moved him to a arena to be with my horse his pasture mate and then he fall again we tried to get him up so meany times i member everyone screaming at him to get up and how my horse took the lead and pulled when she watched us how i kept telling him its going to be okay when i saw the two put their heads together in one final word i lost it
@detre07 yeah the beginning is done better than Fmab but the end of Fma is way too rushed and unsatisfactory. It's still great but for that alone Fmab beats it.
Whenever I hear this song, the first thing I think of is Nina Tucker. =( Her story hit me so hard... I would still put it up in the top five most depressing moments of any movie, book, anime, etc, I have ever seen. Rarely have I been that depressed.
why do i always i see a comment that says that the video doesn't have any dislike...and then 2 days later, you see 2-6 dislikes... it just piss me off! i don't want to see any dislike in my favourite ost/videos etc. because of that! :@
I really dont like people complaining about a second Fma story. Do people forget that its not a remake but the real story true to it's source the original manga. The first anime was birthed by impatience from anime producers unable to wait for manga releases, so they wrote their own story from the Greed arc onwards.
@Tmilom99 Yeah FMA ended on a happy/sad note since Ed and Al were alive but seperated. I think the whole series ended happily in Shamballa where they stayed in Germany during World War 2 together
it's truly a testament to both the anime and it's soundtrack that the first few piano notes can bring you back to all the moments in the show and personally, brings me to tears every time
I personally found the original series far better than fmab. I did enjoy fmab, however it lacked the emotional depth of fma. It seems they went for a more kid/teen anime. The scenes that were of the same story, were better in fma. Once I saw the episodes revolving around the sewing life alchemist and his daughter in fmab, I couldnt help feel they had diluted the entire scene and struck it of the emotional power it had in the original
I love how in this anime nothing is perfect. Things you want to happen don't happen and yet, strangely, it makes you love it more. Even as you watch as death touches those you thought would always be safe.
And good god, the music...It's just...A breath of fresh air I guess.
There's no glittery Edwards, no stupid stalker/damsel couple...just two young boys trying to do what's right.
when I started watching this series, I loved the bond between the brothers. it reminded me of the same love and feelings that my brother and I share. the song always popped on when al and ed had a tender moment. now, every time I hear this song, it not only reminds me of the anime, but also of my brother and I
I think the reason that FMA didnt stick with the manga was because the manga wasnt as completed as it was when FMAB came out. So they had to make up what would happen.
"I felt so helpless, I couldn't even bring myself to believe someone might save me. And then you showed up Al, and I realized that if we don't take care of each other then no one else will. So I'll do anything in my power to get our bodies back, even if it means being the militaries lap dog. And we'll just have to hope our powers are good enough to help us rise above our own limits. Because we're not Gods, we're humans, tiny insignificant humans. Who couldn't even save a little girl." - E.E.
@1hardrocker1 Great Quote to use for this song. It is very fitting and just goes with it. While I read it I heard Edwards voice saying it, so thanks for taking me back to that memory!
i think that.. if someone see the fma first he would like it more than fmab.. and if someone see the famb first he would like it more than fma... thas my opinion cause i have seen the fmab first and fma after and i liked fmab much more

I guess it depends on the person! I personally love Brotherhood more! (Except for the lack of "Brothers" track, and Al's new voice.)

This is such a beautiful song. I brings out tears from every emotion everytime I hear it. I never want it to end. Its one of those numbers that touch every part of a persons soul. I want to learn this song so I can keep playing it all day long
@gigitygigity93 Brotherhood is not lame, its actually really good. I dont know if you know but Brotherhood is the may FMA is told in the Manga. I like them both pretty much the same. @Tmilom99 Have to agree with you, the directors had a different approach to the storyline and they were both amazing animes. The FMA that deviated from the storyline though was more in depth and focused mainly on characterization. Whereas the shounen-ish Brotherhood was more developed since there were more materials available. I really appreciate the efforts of both teams XD
I tried to play this in my piano.... I figured out the first part, but when the low notes come in, I need help... does anyone have some sheet music? please help, I absolutely love this song!
FMA i sone of my favourite Animes. I just love the theme of it as well as their adventures as they try to find a way to get their bodies back to normal. Beautiful song too.
"No matter what lies beyond the gate worth finding...all that can truly be found is what lies in each other" I think that sums up this song...and I just made it up on the spot.
I kinda imagine this being said by al to ed during this song: "..Hey.....As long as we have our fullmetal hearts, we can get through anything....right, brother?"
@AlphonseElric45 for some reason, your comment with the music playing breaks my heart, especially imagining Alphonse saying it. for some reason its just so heartbreaking.
"What Lies ahead of us now... is osmething we can't even find in the gate, or even in our own dreams of finding.." ~ i made it up on the spot towards this song.. <3
I really don't see a connection between the song title and the actual piece. I see this more like a beaming moonlight or a twilight shine sort of thing. But hey we all have different opinions. Maybe it's a fading sunlight.
Courage, dear I am here Rest in my love Breezes Sigh Moonlit sky Stars shine above You are in my keeping Now it's time for sleeping Be at peace and hear my voice I'll send you dreaming Hush now, let your fears go Be brave, heed no shadow Though the sky is dark, there still are stars forever gleaming Day will dawn when night has gone Slumber now and wait for sun Ever by your side I'll stay Dearheart42, why didn't you post the full version? (Dearheart is the author not me!)
This is my favorite piece, I wanted to learn this song so badly i bought the $40 sheet book and spent like an hour trying to find the song name in Japanese. Rakuyou is the first piece I learned from FMA and i LOVE IT
I always loved this piece. Took me forever to find it. I really wished they'd of played this during the time in which Mustang said "It's Going to Rain Today." ((All Hardcore FMA fans know what I'm talking about))
I came up with lyrics for this song when I first got the Full Alchemist Movie... I might make a video one of these days... thank you so much for posting this song!
this song makes you cry and its perfect sadly it doesnt last more than 1:37 mins. it always made me sad when i heard al saying, i cant remember my past, i cant eat, i cant feel my skin etc. always made me sad
@fullmetallover637 aww I remember that one too! It was so said i cried a little LOL! It also reminds me of the part where Ed meets the girl that had super strong automail
wow, i´m reading these great lyrics from Dearheart42, listening this song, and while I read "Though the clouds be dark" it starts to rain outside and I hear the drops knocking on the window.
I agree, that had to be the saddest thing to happen in any anime that i watched, i would of kept going if i was Ed and kept punching her father even after his brother grabbed his arm
Yeah, same. Any father that would do that to their precious baby girl deserves to get beaten up. Although, in a way, Tucker DID get his taste of karma in the end.
Ed:Nina, I want you to bear with me Okay? This May Hurt...
Al: What're You Doing? Your not Planning to split them up are you?! you don't know how to!
Shou: The Chimera's a Perfect Transmutation fused to the core! There's no way to seperate them now! careful you'll just do to them what you did to your mother!
One of the Saddest Scenes in FMA, Go Team Ed and Al! <3 and R.I.P Nina x Alexander T_T
You are in my keeping Now it's time for sleeping Be at peace and listen to my voice I'll send you dreaming Hush now, let your fears go Be brave, heed no shadow Though the clouds be dark Still there are stars forever gleaming Day will dawn when night is done Slumber now and wait for sun Ever by your side Ill stay.
Sorry for spamming the comments page lol, but I've been wanting to write lyrics to this song for a long time. It's always sounded like a lullaby to me. =) So beautiful...the first FMA series had a killer soundtrack... *sighs blissfully*

Whereas the shounen-ish Brotherhood was more developed since there were more materials available. I really appreciate the efforts of both teams XD

FMA i sone of my favourite Animes. I just love the theme of it as well as their adventures as they try to find a way to get their bodies back to normal. Beautiful song too.

This is featured in one of the early episodes where Shou Tucker's lil secret is exposed
Nina/Alexander: You promised you'd come play with me.

I took a bath the other day, and I played this song on my stereo the whole time I was in there.
It was the most peaceful bath I ever took.

This is my favorite piece, I wanted to learn this song so badly i bought the $40 sheet book and spent like an hour trying to find the song name in Japanese. Rakuyou is the first piece I learned from FMA and i LOVE IT
Yanimeluvfan 1 year ago
didnt they play this song when ed and al were at their moms grave at sundown after the funeral is al is like: "brother...im cold...lets go home."
raven546 1 year ago
I always loved this piece. Took me forever to find it. I really wished they'd of played this during the time in which Mustang said "It's Going to Rain Today." ((All Hardcore FMA fans know what I'm talking about))

@HKbdgr hell yeah! =D
It would be awesome if FMA Brotherhood got some of the past songs and put it on the best parts of the anime...
But I think is against some law of copyright or whatever -_-'

God this song reminds me of Nina. ): One of the saddest anime deaths in history~
Such a great song~ RIP Nina... <3
Kaya5778 2 years ago 23
I agree, that had to be the saddest thing to happen in any anime that i watched, i would of kept going if i was Ed and kept punching her father even after his brother grabbed his arm
Gokutransformedss2 1 year ago 2
@Gokutransformedss2
