@bigbignigs I know that looks bad, but the rules on the highway signs allow for this. That's the part that you can't see. This is part of safe driving in Mexico. When there are two lanes and the lines that define the shoulders are striped, then that means the trucks have to scoot over to the shoulder so cars can pass in the middle. The signs on the other side of the highway say that you have to yield to oncoming passers. Now you know the rest of the story.
Love the leather of SB, but in a world where we're all trying to go light (given all the travel etc) this is one bulky mother. Perhaps a redesign to make it as sturdy and classy as it is, but still a bit slimmer, sleeker?
@NearlyNubile that is very true. Everyone is trying to go lighter and thinner. Last night, my 4 year old daughter was trying to open the safety gate at the bottom of the stairs while she was holding the iPad in the case. She dropped it twice within about 30 seconds. I wasn't even concerned because the thick leather buffered the edges and absorbed the hits. I believe that most iPad cases are merely scratch protectors. Without going synthetic, it has to be a little beefy.
Looks great, I love all my Saddleback gear. I would also like to see a magnet somehow integrated to act like the smartcover. To me, this would be a huge upgrade, I'd buy another just for that.
@MichaelVain I like the magnet function that it has too, but I'm going to pass on the magnet idea. Too many questions about it. Would too strong a magnet damage the iPad 2? Would it wear through the leather or weaken the leather and cause some sort of deformation? It's this sort of thing that I don't want to have to deal with in a year with a whole lot of angry iPad 2 owners.
Dave, not sure exactly how this works, but if you stuck some magnets in that front cover, would it act like a smart cover? Just an idea. Another great leather product.
Dave another stellar product from saddleback. I am going to send a link to Ipad Today a podcast I watch they produce a number of great podcasts and will do this product justice. They have a lot of viewers too.
not that you should copy them but twelve south makes a nice leather book case for the iphone-mbp, you guys have anything like it for the mac?

I'm liking your videos, but am still upset by the one I just saw of you driving recklessly with a child in the car while in Mexico. Not cool.
