the reason you no highted at 10ft. is because you dont invert on the pole. you need to swing up harder and hold that position, rather than just vaulting bad.
..is 8 inches in a regulation box. meaning that the bar is actually at around 9'6". your pole is at least 3 feet above the crossbar. you are also jumping with the bar on the extensions. which is lame. get a big stick. rock back. and jump. ill post a video of me later on so you can see how a real man does it. lol. also i was wondering your age?

hey bro, you also have a double leg swing. watch all the world class vaulters. the swing their left leg and drive their right leg. except its vis versa for a lefty. a way to rock back more is to collapse you left arm after you press. if you dont youll never jump high. just sayin. and dont make the mistake of trying to through youre head because it only lowers your hips. and the last thing i have to say is their is no way in hell thats eleven feet. because you claim you are on a 13'7" and there..
hey man you have an extremely nice take-off, but you need to rock back more and shoot your feet upwards. i used to do this last year getting only 11 feet or so, now i rock back all the way and shoot up and ive been getting in the 14's
also that left leg should be locked out dont bend it as early as you did and ya gott invet to get that 13'7. do another vid and show us what ya really can do, dont lie about your height
I vaulted for 14 years, a pathetic PR of 13'6" (javelin turned out to be my best event), and I NEVER counted my strides at all! I had a starting mark and that was IT! Tried checkmarks early in my career and found them to be an unnecessary distraction.
Listen, I'm a collegiate coach and I understand your point and I've even heard vaulters actually counting their strides down the runway.
dickiesboysktr, thanks for all the great videos you've been posting... i know the no-height feeling... it sucks... one thing i noticed, your really sitting on the pole... practice getting your shoulders to drop back and swinging through untill your vertical... your video mix has helped me a ton this season with my vaulting, its only fair that i try and help you as best i can.... btw, what state you in? looks cold, like somewhere near where i live.
your plant and trail leg are really good but half way through your swing you pull slightly on your upper arm which stops your swing... if you would keep pushing your hands up (not in your not bending the pole with your arms) and swing that leg all the way around till your hips are above your head you would be getting 13' no problme with that pole.
yeah, suzukirace99 and i jump together sometimes and we both follow the same conceptual model for jumping under the same coach. as far as this jump, you are way under! and then like he said, try not to pull the arm but to swing the trail leg. if you look at bubka, he loads his poles so well, but its got alot to do with his tremedously fast swing along with his timing in the vault.
your such a liar thats maybe ten feet you had to add an extension to put it that low and your poles maybe 13 feet just ssaying

Yeah, definitely a 13'7 pole. Not the bar height. Get smart people. It said "on a 13'7" Not at 13'7. (:
fracturedfilmz2275 2 years ago
had me fooled i thought that was really 13 7, looked a little low. i guess that was your pole

hey xyz654...in pole vault, you only count your left steps, therefore this is a 4 step jump, a full vault is considered either 6 or 7 left steps...
whos retarded now....comment on a video where u actually understand something
Forensicmusic 3 years ago
i think he's talking about the bar height.
But he's still wrong.
The 13' 7" is the pole length not the bar height.
STLskater92 2 years ago
i correct my self. you said that pole was 13'7. now i get it

fcaleader 3 years ago
wow. you must have a 15 foot pole. cause if ya pause the vid aT 4 seconds the pole is alot taller than the supposively 13'7
it looks alot more like 12 feet to me.
fcaleader 3 years ago
thats like 9 feet retard
xyz654 3 years ago
It says "On A 13-7"
That means the pole leangth not the height.

Try 8 STEPS!
JAVMAN83 3 years ago
HEY! HE IS TALKING ABOUT 4 LEFTS!!
tanner554 3 years ago
I knew he was; however, he should state as much. A step by definition is one leg stride, not two. Be succinct, yet also precise!
JAVMAN83 3 years ago
but still, when you are counting your steps, it is either by your left leg or your right leg. this is not long jump. leave it to the smart one!!
tanner554 3 years ago

To me, they've completely missed the boat along the way. If you haven't got the rythym down in your body already, you're already toast.

i just run at the box until it's time to plant ^^
CharlesWII 3 years ago
but he starts off on his right foot so its actually a little more than 4 steps
