So, white men have some issues, it can be over come with education and replacement of more senior positions with non whites, who would be less tolerant of such things.
Soldiers need to come from the bottom of our population. After all do we really want to send someone with a high level degree and talent to a war?
We need to allow some indiscretions among these rednecks.
I'm not surprised, I mean the military is not particularly where the cream of our youth go, it's mostly poor whites or minorities, or high school dropouts, or those who didn't have any other thing to do.
My dad is Persian, my mom American. The only colors my dad saw was red, white and blue. even though he was born here, loved this nation more then your average white guy. He served for 5 years as a Navy seal. But He couldn't take the racism he got from the brand new recruits to the high ranking officers. He served from 02-07. Now this didn't come from everyone, he had many good friend (some he even knows today.) but deep down there expected him to die first, like it was his fight.
@2323555@2323555 LOL, too bad your dad didn't learn a valuable lesson. American racism is institutional. While he may feel like an America, and do his utmost to be an American, probably marrying your mom, he will never be an American, because the institutional definition of American is "white". \
This guy kind of exaggerates just a bit. Not to say he's lying, it's very fucked up over there, but he makes us sound like complete psychopaths. Most of the guys in my unit were just trying to make it home in one piece. That said, we were soldiers, not Red Cross volunteers. It's not a pretty job.
I can't see why people just can't go over their and do their jobs without a lot of racist propaganda . If you are a racist just say that you are going to kill people with color and stop hiding behind the american flag.
This guy is lying. He is too scared to fight so he makes up lies. thousands have been over there. Good religious people. If there were any injustice going on we would sure hear about it!
Someone tell me one job that does not have racism at some point in it? It's really scary how people think the military is the only place racist people exist.
Vietnam veteran drill sergeants? I think not.....Vietnam ended over 30 years ago. There are no 50+ year old drill sergeants, and hardly any currently serving service members from the Vietnam era. This kid is a puke who couldn't hack real life.
What do you mean when you ask, "why does it matter what we call them"? I dont understand your question in relation to my reply to globehunter2.
Not all have a conscience, how can you "sugar coat killing"? No one (not even myself has tried to, save the media who propogates it (you know "pictures of soldiers in the sunrise) rather then childrens heads blown off

Signed up or not means nothing if you dont obey it.
I asked a few biligual Iraqis what they thought about the term Haji. They didn't think it was offensive. As someone who has survived a great about of racism in the Army, it amazes me that the real stories don't make it and white soldiers get all the air time as usual.
GOD bless you for coming out in telling the truth........if there has to be a war, at least people can stop the racism.....:) thankyou!

@garrettmartinbradfor racism gets pushed under the rug in the military because most of the officers are racist anyway.

No human being has the right to demean or
dis-respect another human being!...for they
them selves would demand respect and dignity.
