  • Pleo is great. Emotional connect toy is a bold step forward.

  • Pleo was absolutely brilliant, and there is nothing like it on the market, period. But it was a little ahead of its time. Ugobe had a fantastic philosophy, and they had so much potential. Unfortunately: 1, there was no continuous sales in the company because there was no variety among their product, and 2, Pleo was better suited for smaller kids, but it was also very expensive. If Pleo was $50 and there was 50 different models, it would have been the toy of the decade.

  • I'm sad.

I know Caleb personally; his daughter is in my grade (abigail), and he's now living in a small house, divorced.

  • oh my gosh abbi's my friend too! Caleb is amazing! thats so sad. i love when he does the robot bit he's soo good at it!

  • @pumpkin091 hate to be the bearer of good news. but that is so not true.

  • This was the best video I saw... It has a lot of info... Well done!

  • That was such a wonderful video. Probably the *best* I've ever seen.

  • Pleo is a wonderful robot, but I don't think it will be a big hit for kids. Also, the price is too high.

Great invention indeed, but I believe they should've created something less expensive and more active toy.

  • pleos are not expensive any more

  • I like robotics but why not buy a cat?

  • thats one reason why i want a pleo, i have alot of allergies and i cant buy a cat or a dog...so i want a pleo, hes just as cool as a cat or dog minus the part of me not breathing... =)

  • Well the strange thing is that I used to have cat/dog (fur?) allergy but I then decided I didn't have any allergies so I Got rid of them =)

When you have allergies you don't neccesserally have allergies towards all races of cats or dogs. Go check it out...

  • Because they are not robots?

  • I want one!

  • You know, the look on your landlord's face would be priceless if you tell him you have a pet and then show him Pleo.

Also tell him Pleo, when in learning mode, tends to chew on wires at first. Then refuse to pay the pet fee :)

  • At least during the first part of the video when he was showing his older projects, MUSIC could really have been turned down or turned off, since it wasn't useful for anything and even covered up his voice a bit.

But Pleo is definitely cool. I remember when they first came out, I was impressed with their ability to be very child-like. They even sleep longer than usual the first couple of day as they're getting to know your voice. Then they become active and obey your voice commands well :)

  • ... covered up his voice a *lot*

  • the music is distracting. but I love the free-spiritedness of the toy designs.

  • i was expecting more .... oh well

  • I would love to get one of those, but they are kind of expensive for a student like me.

  • god damn i wish i was ten years old again

  • Ugh. Should have been a 2 minute speech.

  • Sort of a slow start but the end is worth it.

    That is very cool.

  • i want one.

  • He couldn't have turned the volume on BAD TO THE BONE down? I can barely hear him.

  • That's amazing. It looks expensive though. But, hey, now every kid can have a dinosaur pet, even if it's second-hand.

  • I want one of those dinosaurs.

  • I want one!

  • yay, first one to see it!

  • your are stupid
