@rrhynes My dad walked the picket line many times in the 70s and 80s, as did my grandpa, grandma, mom, and me (I was in her belly). They did it because they had to fight for every cent they got. THIS IS HOW WE GOT A 40 HOUR WORK WEEK AND OVERTIME AND SAFETY REGULATIONS!

For labor unions to once again be effective, anyone in leadership should be required to work a full-time job and belong to the union they represent AND all union positions be unpaid with NO DUES COLLECTED from anyone. The real violence is being done by corporations undermining Unions, living standards and jobs. Check your history books and see how America was before Unions. People suffered and died.
Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers (BAC) posted this video. I think it's safe to say that those jobs are "real" jobs. I didn't see any intimidation, try to point out the scary parts I missed. The guys are out there for the same reason the AMA fights against medicare patients getting surgery in Canada. Not because they are defending terrible doctors, they are defending a standard of living. A higher skill level doesn't make up for someone less talented working for a fraction of the price.
If rat contractors bring workers from other states to perform work with incompetent unskilled piss ants. They deserve what coming to them.
