omg why does gonzo look so weird? like hes made of paper mache. his voice sounds like he has a cold, and WHY DOES HE HAVE BLACK HAIR! ( my world is falling apart)
I was half expecting Miss Piggy to come out halfway through "Lydia the Tattooed Lady" and beat Lydia up. Oh well, at least Kermit must have learned his lesson. LOL
hahhaha! ahhhh tv just isn't what it used to be. :) The lydia bit was hilarious. :P It must have been a blast writing all the songs and skits for this show!
Here's a great Statler and Woaldorf routine from Muppet Show comic book #1:
STATLER: A Muppet Show comic book! Oh no, they're back to corrupt a whole new medium.
WALDORF: Why's it called a medium?
STATLER: Cause it's rarely well done! Hoho!
MEDIUM: 'Corrupt'?! I'll have you know I'm fully licensed by The Board of Fakirs! Now don't interrupt me, I'm trying to summon the spirit of Chief Sitting Duck.
There are only three episodes of the Muppet Show that features the Sesame Street characters are Connie Stevens (with Bert & Ernie), Leslie Uggams (with Big Bird), and Marty Feldman (with Cookie Monster, Ernie, Bert, Grover, Count von Count, and two Little Anything Muppets). I wish there were more featuring the Sesame Street Muppets.
If I remember well, Piggy (in this case the song's "Lydia") was conceived AND animated by the GREAT Frank Oz (who also does her voice). Check out the wonders he does in the "Have you met Lydia" number... Jim Henson surely had his own man in the shadows (and under the stage, where the puppeteers spend most of their time. God I loved this show!
Well, frank didn't do Piggy's voice in a lot of season one, because she wasn't intended to be his main puppet, until they realised how big she was going to be.
Actually, Lydia was a Muppet all her own, only used once as a "star", in this episode. She was used as background in other episodes as well, but she is not Piggy.
I'm so amazed by the quality of Lydia's animation in this piece that I wonder if all of Jim Henson's puppeteers just were that good, or if it marks Frank Oz' craftsmanship...!?
Do they got something against swedens

i seriously HOPE TO GOD, that there will never EVER be any parody(by Disney or any other company doesn't matter) of this.
If there will be, i'm gonna kill those who did it
(even though i'm born in the 90's and in Sweden, so i didn't really grow up with The Muppets, but with other similair good stuff)
