Many still dont get it. When there is the apocalypse (revelation) of Peter saying Jesus appears next to Peter in his crucification it is the concept that what died on the cross was physical, yet his spiritual divine cannot be killed. He is laughing of those (the rulling powers of the universe, represented by the romans) who thought they could destroy him this way.
@UnoRaza Oh? So why am I Valentinian and I know of Sethians? There were at least a dozen Gnostic sects and they did not agree on the same scriptures. The Cathars were similar to the Shakers in that they believe all sex was sinful. I'm married.
It's too bad "the church" will not release the unedited versions of these texts as you KNOW they have them and probably everything else of import from Alexandria.
@hornsofarabbit There flesh has the soul. There is a fleshly body and a Spiritual body. When the fleshly body, or "A Tent" as the Apostle Peter called it, when the flesh dies, the Spiritual Body goes back to God. What did we learn on our journey here? 1 Corinthians 15:44
"most scholars remain unconvinced" ofcourse... no scholar will ever believe anything unless it hits them in the head, the fun thing is that most of what they believe is true, are hearsey but since they've all been brainwashed since childhood they have no clue about.
@banheden quite right! they're talking about 'the historcal jesus', there is no historical jesus, no prove jesus ever existed except for the scriptures, so none.. anyway the aporcyphia are just as valid as the 'official' bible.. meaning it's a leap of faith to believe one or the other. those guys call themselves scholarsbut they're talking unscientific nonsense to defend the believe system they were thought. where's the science?
@butobuto1 we could say the same thing about napolion, george washington, the existance of anciant egypt heck any thing that happened over at least 200 to 300 years or older the only proof is writing no one is alive that seen it in person and even if there were someone still the agrument would remain "is he telling the truth". where is the science in any history butobuto. there isnt science cant prove history carbon dateing on text isnt even proof there is so much that can flaw the science of CD
@Sc2greenst the difference is napolEon has been largely documented, washington has been, there are probably birth and death certificates on record aso.. ancient egypt.. well visit egypt, you'll find it
history is not an exact science, i'll give you that, and i have no doubt it is biassed just as the bible is. but if you're religious and believe in the truth of the new testament, you should put the apocryphical writings on the same line.. or you're just trusting 5th century barbarians
@butobuto1 thanks for replying even though your post was two weeks old. and yes i know egypt is there but who built it and how? all we have are ancient writings. as for being religious no i am not. religeon is the reason why things like this video are so taboo. religeon dose nothing but hold the truth. twist the truth to what MAN wants it to be. that is the flaw in religeon. do i believe in God yes. in Jesus yes. religeon no i dont believe in men. history takes faith no matter the subject
@Sc2greenst if you believe in god and jesus, you are religious, but i understand what you're saying.. you have your personal believes and i respect them! what matters is that you have a working brain! i'm an atheist, been christian, but all that matters to me now is the truth. it's almost impossible to find but the search is a reward in itself, no matter if you believe in god or not
@butobuto1 Are you talking about the truth of the spirit. Or the knowledge of the truth.? One is not the other.
Religions are the Knowledge of the truth. Or hear say is their witness. Knowledge is what Adam and Eve did.?They became WISE.in knowledge. Got them kicked out of paradise. we are their offsprings.
The first breath we take from the world of the concious. Makes us wrong. Lest you find what I hope you are looking for the truth of the spirit. No spirit in the knowkedge of the truth
@SumSayYez let's think about this : jesus is called by the title 'rabbi' several times in the 'bible', now do just a quick research and find out that in judaism a man has to be married and have a family to be able to become a rabbi.. doesn't it make sense that he might have been a married man? what's the problem with that? in the traditional christian believes he was as much a son of man as the son of god, why would mary magdalene be not an equal? you make no sense
The Gospel of Phillip also indicates that one of Yeshua's biological sisters was a disciple...that he had 7 female disciples. Why do Christians care if Yeshua and Mary Magdalene were lovers? Does it change his message? No...but does it change the superficial image? Yes. That image seems FAR more important to many than the teachings of love and liberation through forgiveness. The need to define the man instead of looking at his teachings is completely in opposition to those teachings.
It goes right over Craig Evan's head. If he was to read Lke 1;80 and then Lke 2;39-52 clearly John the Baptist and Jesus are the same person. Something in the Gospels is clearly made up. Matt's genealogy applies to John the Baptist, Lke's should apply to the traditional Jesus. Considering that Christian theology holds that he was "son of God'. Who ever wrote the Gospels transformed John the Baptist who was foretold messiah into Jesus of Christianity. The Gospels are clearly alterations.
its like when the new star wars came out and it sucked everyone hated it. Never go back to tell the kids tale.

In the scriptures says "Truth and Mercy have kissed". It was not a fleshly but Holy sign. That verse is in the old testament.

Those claiming to be "Gnostic" TODAY do not use most of the doctrines displayed by this documentary; they're more like the Cathars of France.
