I've always loved the simpsons and i laugh alot at every episode usually the 1st time i see it but i still laugh at re-runs. i loved the movie and i love the most recent ones as the simpsons did go abit downhill but i think that was during the production of the movie  but then they reaileed there where atatched to a rope and the yoinked themselves back up the hilll.

Matt and James are brilliant.  Every episode of The Simpson's up until about season 10 is absolutely the best. I have never seen another show that is a funny, intelligent, and entertaining as The Simpson's. Simply put it's the best show ever created.

Yes, you are 100% right. About 1999 the Simpsons went way downhill in terms of writing compared to episodes in the early to mid 90's. I don't even watching anything besides Seasons 1-10.  But, I did like the movie; it actually reminded me of the earlier writing style from the 90's.

Just yet another confirmation of that opinion; I would actually say season 9 was the crest of the rainbow and not 10...but that's just my opinion.

I love The Simpsons and think Matt's great....BUT there's no denying that the four-years-in-the-making movie script was a lot less funny than episodes they knocked out regularly in the early-mid 90s.

@ghostofcastlereagh I find that you have to watch the movie in half's. You watch the first hour then have a break then come back and watch the rest. It's better but still not as good as the episodes.
