I blame the Goverment & the Corporations on either delibertly or incompetly in there duty to explain to people what Peak Oil is about. Right now most people I talk to have it conflated with Global warming and enviromentalism, ie the enviromentalist are keeping domestic Oil from drilled. The low low prices at the pump don't help either. Nor did Cash for Clunkers, got me a new car that I drive even MORE because I know it will probaly be my last car. So far getting the word out has been a failure.
The lobbyist live on short terms ...like factory workers living pay check to pay check...engaging is the rage of psuedo-capitalisms and the art of living low tech is what it is...thanks
Thanks for another interesting video. It's nice to know that as gloomy as it gets there's always dancing at the end. Kind of a metaphor. It was great to meet you briefly at ASPO. Keep up the good work.
Good video! I'm on the fence now about man made global warming. I also believe the US has more oil inventory in Alaska than it admits to but that supply will be held off the market until things get real bad. I'm a big fan of getting free of the system though since we're taxed at every level. If they pass the cap and tax bill I'll ride my 80mpg scooter instead of driving. Then they'll collect less tax from me than they would if those taxes don't hit us. 1.2 gallons = a whole week's travel for me.
That scooter is cool. It'll go 60mph and keeps up with traffic very well. It got the advertised 80mpg the last time I measured it. It can carry 2 people with no problem and it has a carrier that can hold slightly more than a full bag of groceries on the back. It can hold almost a second full bag of groceries in the compartment under the seat too. It's also kinda cool looking for a scooter.
During 4 dollar gas price period people would come up and ask me about it, especially at the gas pump.
Great video, keep spreading this message!

Methane is the answer. We will eventually all be using methane for everything. There are huge reserves of methane everywhere.
