Also, the Republicans are in fact pretty much owned by any big business, and it's well known that the Republican party likes money. Wholly owned subsidiary is not slander, as it's not defaming them, it's simply stating their desire to keep money, which is obviously true. I think you are the ignorant, and don't realize it.

Private insurance is the main culprit of rising insurance costs. Last year their profits went up substantially as they dropped more sick policyholders. "Tort Reform" is a red herring.
We passed major tort reform in Texas & insurance costs did not go down -- all we got were a ton of doctors from other states who could no longer get insurance in those states because of operating drunk, sexually abusing patients, and so forth.

Tort Reform, in terms of medical malpractice, is tiny compared to other healthcare costs in the Nation, about 2%. That's according to director of the Congressional Budget Office in a letter to Orrin Hatch 10/9/09, easy to find on the net. It's a Red Herring. It accounts for nothing when compared to the other costs and over charges of the current system. It's what conservatives do. Obfuscate until the argument goes away and eventually do nothing for those who need access to affordable healthcare.
