Goats are sweet and intelligent. A friend of mine has goats, and if he sits on a chair in the yard and sings, one of them will walk over to him and put its head in his lap while he's singing.
Does that gate really hold them? When I went to the Heidi museum in Maienfeld, they jump over it as if it was a hurdle. Goats are ridiculously agile... and smart!
