you don't have to use cookie cutter, just right click the clip go to switches and uncheack 'maintain aspect ration' :D

Great tutorial. Is this the effect you see in AMVs with that little rectangle window over the footage? Like inside the rectangle it's transparent and clear but oustide the rectangle the footage has a color plugin applied. The shape of the rectangle also animates.

Is that what Cookie cutter Can do?

you can achieve a better widescreen effect by cropping the video

I found out why it was transparant, Make large black borders and the make it bigger again and it wont be transparant anymore :)

Here is my problem...at bottom of the cookie cutter window the keyframing don't appear... what i must do to appear the keyframes? The only place were this keyframing appear is at pan FX... what i must do to appear on cookie cutter?

Suppose you could use cookie cutter to pixelate one part of the video in Movie Studio 9? Why couldn't they have just included Masking in that version?! I wasn't about to pay an extra $400 to just to have masking, which is all I wanted from Pro, so I got Movie Studio 9. Sigh.

Hi,thanks for the tutorial,I was wondering if you know how to shrink a clip so it plays say, in the corner with another clip playing behind it, bc when I go to event/pancrop,and try to shrink a clp it just zooms in

Not Needed, if you go to event-pan/crop you can just hit wide screen or any other form you want on the preset option at the top, cookie cutter will just make the rendering process slower

Yeah, but this is a lottt easier. Cuz if you want your movie to look good, and if you go to event pan crop, every time it wont look exactly the same..

Event pan/crop is definitely the better way to go. If you use the presets it's exactly the same every time. You can make your own just like in cookie cutter and save it as well. Like Super said it is rendered much faster too.

Hey i got a question. When i cut out a picture and stuff how do i move the picture like to a different place wihtout just moving the cutout thing. Because whenever i try to move it just moves to the cutout thing to another part of the picture that i dont want.

Use the motion tracking to move it around. This is found to the left of the video track, just above the opacity slider.

I was just wondering, how do you get to clips to play over top of one another, but you can see both (one if faded slightly)? I haven't been able to track this down in your tutorials yet.

Check out my tutorial on Layers/Tracks, should be in there. You just need to make 2 tracks, and have two clips right above each other, and lower the top clips opacity.

Yes you could just mask instead of cookie cutting, cc'ing is just an alternate(easier) way to mask things.
