This is my video, I can't login anymore, this is an old account, so I am replying from my current username. It was actually quite easy to clean the burrow. I would use a large scoop and empty the contents. The tank itself was fairly dry as gerbils do not urinate a lot and so there is pretty much zero humidity in their bedding. I would wash the thank out in the tub and wipe it dry. Then I'd reconnect it to the cage top and fill it up again.
@gerbillover77 They like the variety of being able to be in the burrow and also climb to the top cages. It also gives them a larger habitat. These gerbils have long since passed away, this is one of my old videos. I don't use the account anymore though, I'm under this one now.
This is my vide, that is my basement, that is my gerbil tank... I haven't been able to logon to my rodentparadise account for a few years now. Anyway, the gerbils have since passed away, but, the tank was awesome (and, so were the gerbils.) I still have the tank, though it is in storage now. They used to build the most amazing tunnels in that burrow, it changed "shape" regularly, the way the tank would be burrowed. Awesome.
@SuperYoshi12 I actually got it for free in the classified ads. It leaked and could not be used for fish anymore. I sterlized it, fixed it up and turned into gerbil heaven.
my girl gerbils where all burrowing and spent hours getting bedding and stuff and i read online that pregnant gerbils spend their time burrowing.(both girls)i was wondering if you knew how to tell if they were pregnant.
i spend a crap load on wood shavings my gerbils, because i have such a big tank and as well i have to pay extra to make sure the shavings are larger enough so the don't go in my gerbils eyes and up their nose. i also got to pay to make sure it is dust extracted.
ur not supposed to use wood shavings. it cuts their noses and paws, and some are allergic to it, i personally think they should take it off market, because SO MANY small pets die because of allergies or excessive bleedong, which the blood dries to brown and gets pushed around in stuff so barely anybody realizes.
wow talk about an awesome gerbil tank!!

@gerbillover77 there is a ladder leading into the burrow from both tops. They had more room than any gerbil I've ever known.

wow beautiful!! 5/5
the only thing i must add is:
take out all plastic, even if you claim they "dont chew it" its harmful.
and also, a 75 is too big for 2 gerbils!! it can get very territorial in just a second.
use a 75 gal for 5 gerbils :)
