  • These libs are all about hitting below the belt with either irrelevant and unproven insults or just calling everyone racist because they don't want Obama in for a second term. Well let me tell you Obama has done nothing but damage to the American Economy and expanded government in ways it never should have been. The people control America not the government stop trying to change that! Its time for a real change with a real black man who can lead! Hermain Cain 2012 the end of U.S. socialism!!!!

  • Bachman won! Suck it, libs!

  • She is a cancer on democracy and reason. Fucking republicunt nut job Curistiofascist. I can't believe the people in her district are this fucking stupid.

  • shes a nut job.....

  • tarryl clark is the best. michelle bachmann stinks.

  • Guy's got a wide stance.

  • I think the real problem falls to both Republicans and Democrats blaming each other. Politics now just seem to be which party can get the most in office and pass the largest amount of their legislature. When what it really should be is both sides sit down and one asks the other "Ok, there's clearly something with what you're saying that I don't understand or don't support, so how about you explain it to me and convince me why you think you're way is right". But maybe I'm just too hopeful.

  • Is this an old-timey kids show? What's with all the wonky sound effects. Ugh stoopid idiots,

  • My source is an independent fact checking organization that in 2009 won the Pulitzer prize called Politifact.

  • Give Michelle Bachmann the boot, 6th District of MN. That woman CLEARLY is a nutcase and should be back home, not in Congress. At least back there I won't hear from her ever again as a Missourian.

  • wow! What a ridiculous ad, Jim.

No fucking specifics or nothing! "She loves raising taxes" Like... what? What bills are you referring to? Just empty rhetoric from Michelle Bachmann, as usual.

Has she done ANYTHING meaningful or helpful for her district? Or has she just blown a bunch of hot air and said the dumbest things you could possibly hear from one Congressman?

  • Yeah, seriously, why is he standing like that?

  • I wish Bachmann would start telling the truth in her ads. She has to twist things so much to make herself look good and Tarryl look bad. We need an honest, hard-working person in our congress.

Check the facts then vote for Clark!!!

  • @Hopeendlessly When has Bachmann not told the truth? The ad simply states that Clark voted to raise taxes every year she's been in office which is a FACT. Bachmann is in a Republican-Majority district during a pro-Republican year. She's posting nearly double digit leads by Democratic polling outlets despite being labeled as definition far-right by every Democrat imaginable. Now if you really want a liar out of office, I'd worry about Alan Grayson FL-8, who is collapsing in the polls

  • @Hopeendlessly What facts are incorrect? Please specify.

  • @Hopeendlessly, Michele Bachmann won big time. The people weren't fooled by the crazy liberals. Michele Bachmann is the best!

  • Tarryl Clark should do a tv ad telling michele bachman to think only inside the box or try thinking out side the box mabe than she would try thinking thinking

  • jim is like that fuckin annoying paperclip that used to show up on microsoft word and fuck up all my documents.

  • @milowent The Democrat Party must be pleased to have you as one of their own - such eloquence and wit do you possess...

  • @buoyant69 i'm not a democrat, i'm actually a tea party patriot but i have to do this to pay my bills.

  • Fake arse actor!

  • A lot of the Republicans have a wide stance..... from standing in the closet for years.

  • I love it. There is a huge amount of debate and humor in these comments. Go to any of Mark Daytons YouTube postings, you will find that comments have all been disabled, what a weinie.

  • i donts undrstand? moor pikturs pleese

  • lol wtf?!

this campaign is so desperate it insults other candidates.

    sad, man. just sad.

  • What a bitch some one needs to smack her in the face Bitch! don't raise the tax on my beer.

  • Jim are you going to take a dump? Why the hell are you squatting?

  • cant wait to here how much rediculous shit bachmanns going to say next.

and jim the elction guy your a fuckin tool

  • @yamaki00 I had to give a thumbs up to your post. I hope as many undecideds and independents read your poorly written comments as possible. Sadly, you're very representative of the modern Left and Democratic Party.

  • Fuck you Bachmann!!! At least show up to the district and spend some time at the parades talking with people!!! Are you coming to SCSU to talk with students? Of course not! Why do that when you could be drinking TEA with your crazy-ass supporters?

Come talk to college students! Tell us how you're gonna help lower the cost of Education. How about creating some damn jobs for us, huh? How about doing something, anything, to help the little guy?

  • @maxsgirl452 Exactly! Did you know she didn't support the rebuilding of the bridge in St. Cloud, but went to the ribbon cutting? how ridiculous...

  • @maxsgirl452 Out of curiosity, how much of your tuition do you feel should be paid by you and how much of it should be paid by others? Also, what kind of "damn jobs" do you want the government to create for you and how? Perhaps you should consider writing a personal government wish list and mailing it to her...

  • @buoyant69 as an ed major, I would hope that the government could fund education better so that I can find a teaching job when I graduate. My employment is directly based on government spending on education.

I would love to be able to pay for college all by myself, without having to rely on student loans of any kind. My father went to the same college I do. He was able to work part-time at a local pizza joint and pay for college. He graduated without a dollar of debt. I'm not so lucky.

  • @maxsgirl452 I do hope you're able to find a job in your major (and in the area you desire to live). Unfortunately, life seldom works out [what we believe to be] perfectly.

Like a great many others in the workforce, my current position is not correlative of my college major. Furthermore, I had to move to a different region to attain it. Such is life. I have an enjoyable position and I'm thankful for it.

Be well. And don't let others convince you that your future is in another's control.

  • Nearly every European country has raised taxes substantially over the past few years because of the recession, thats how some countries choose to fight recessions, and they seem a bit more well off right now than us.

  • It seems rather difficult to substantiate much of ANYTHING Bachmann has actually voted in favor of. It sure must be easy to be a legislator when you can miss 100 votes while gallivanting all over the country to line your own pockets and just vote "no" by default to everything else.

At least Tarryl Clark is willing to commit to making decisions, and I certainly do not think Clark is wrong in supporting fair taxation of the richest 8% of the population.

Bachmann is out of touch with reality.

  • @AnEducatedYankee I beg to differ. I suggest we fairly tax the richest 25% of the population rather than just the richest top 8%. After all, rich is rich (I know some folks in the top quarter that have some pretty nice stuff). It's only fair. Actually, it would be even more fair if everyone making more than I do was taxed fairly, so really, we should increase taxes on the top 35% of all taxpayers. Fair enough? Come on fellow bottom 65% of taxpayers, grab your pitchforks! Let's make 'em pay!

  • @buoyant69 The "raising taxes on the rich" referred to in all the current discussions is _actually_ allowing current tax breaks for the richest to expire and revert back to what they were in the year 2000.

The top two tax rates (couples making in excess of $250,000) would increase from 33 and 35 percent to 36 and 39.6 percent.

It could be worse. We could be adopting the wartime tax rate During 1944&1945, the top rate was 94% applied to income above $200,000. ; )

  • @AnEducatedYankee So the top tax rates were more fair in 2000 or 1944 (or perhaps sometime in between)? And who makes that determination? I sure hope it's not those receiving more in gov't services than that for which they pay (and this group extends well beyond EIC recipients nowadays). Going after the rich is, unfortunately, effective campaign rhetoric with predictable populist appeal. One man's rich is... I hate to sound cliche, but when all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

  • Take a gander at this handy info-graphic from the wikipedia on "Income Tax in the United States"

    "US_income_tax_2008"

... see how the percentage paid stops rising once you get to the golden egg?

Of course those are the people with exponential disposable income (handy for political donations, lobbying, etc), not people making $25,000 a year and putting 80%+ of that towards housing, utilities, food, clothing, and transportation.

  • @AnEducatedYankee How silly of me to waste all that time in sundry Econ courses when I could've just hit up Wikipedia for all I needed to know about tax policy and revenue maximization. A fool, I am. But let's not forget about the elephant in this room of economic haze: wealth creation. You cannot consume or redistribute what hasn't been created. Perhaps we should direct policy toward this goal (wealth maximization) rather than focus on maximizing consumption? A rising tide lifts all boats.

  • @buoyant69 Please show evidence that allowing the rich to hold onto more of their money actually creates jobs or increases gross domestic product.

There are companies who made record profits in 2008, were granted government contracts and subsequently decided to move half their operation to Mexico. Tell me that is on account of taxes. Because that is what people like Bachmann are trying to argue, counter to the evidence of the last 30 years in tax trends, domestic growth, and jobs.

  • Also worth a gander is the New York Times op-ed by David Stockman, a director of the Office of Management and Budget under Ronald Reagan saying essentially, "we were wrong."

The article was brought to my attention by a former classmate with a degree in Econ, who is now a "rich banker and investor" and does think HIS tax bracket should pay more.

Bush could justify his war AND these cuts, how's that for fiscal responsibility?

Seems we can never afford to do something intelligent.

  • @AnEducatedYankee What evidence are you requesting [in less than 500 characters]? What could influence you? New links to Wikipedia or references to more op-ed pieces from the NY Times? Perhaps an article from Mother Jones, The Nation or Time? Your opinions have already been cast. At this point, you're only open to information that fortifies those views. Attempting to deconstruct your cognitive dissonance would be futile; there are better uses of my time.

  • @buoyant69

I am a very open minded person. My opinion is based on facts, data, and commentary from numerous sources and I am constantly looking for new data to inform my decisions. I commonly ask people, why do you believe that? Based on what evidence or data?

My problem remains to be with people who have no qualms dishing out an opinion (Bachmann and Palin style) based on limited, unreliable, or misleading sources and expecting me to take it at face value. ; )

  • @AnEducatedYankee Can you ever recall a time when Bachmann or Palin have used reliable, credible sources to espouse an opinion with which you agreed? What are reliable sources and who makes the determination (and how)? Can you cite any instances in which our current President or congressional leadership might've used misleading information and platitudes expecting others to take them at face value? I Hope you can.

  • @buoyant69 Without wasting precious time I could spend doing more important things. How about Bachmann's claim there were 1 million people at the "Restoring Honor" event, though crowd analysis of the event using aerial photography put the official number closer to 100k. How about Bachmann telling people she would not fill out a census form (in violation of the law), that the 2010 census form was unconstitutional and drawing a wild plot between personal data collection and internment camps.

  • I can't say that either of those women have ever used a reliable or credible source of data... their words and actions certainly don't seem to imply it. Sarah Palin claims she can see Russia from her house despite the constraints of Geography that preclude that from being possible. She also couldn't name a newspaper/news source she reads on a regular basis in the Katie Couric interview.

  • If the opinion is based on openly available data from sources such as The IRS, the Federal Reserve, the Congressional Budget Committee, NASA, Department of Energy, etc... I tend to feel their stats are likely to be founded on hard data sets which are also a matter of public record.

If Glenn Beck tells me this is the best month on record to buy overpriced gold coins and special hybrid garden seeds for the end of civilization, which might happen in Nov.... I'm just not buying it.

  • Likewise, I am not buying this Christian Revolution nonsense. I know full well that the bulk of the founding fathers were Deists, not Christians. They did in fact mean all that is implied in the phrase, "separation of church and state".

"Under God" was not part of our pledge of allegiance, nor was "in God we trust" on our money until the 1950s... strongly influenced by political leaders wishing to make a wider distinction between our republic and communist and fascist ones...

  • It remains disingenuous for Palin, Beck, Bachmann, and their ilk to claim they are Constitutionalists or trying to bring back our founding father's true intent... Because it is stated clear as day in the Treaty of Tripoli, Article 11 that this countries government "is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion."

They have embraced a monumental lie as the foundation to justify every other lie and manipulation they carry out in their own self-interest, wrapped coyly in flag and bible.

  • @AnEducatedYankee Your calling yourself "Educated" is an insult to educated people everywhere. Just because you're the loudest rooster on the farm doesn't make your Leftist clucking any more convincing.

  • Oh yep, now here comes the personal attacks. You have supposedly found one "mistake" in my statements... that Palin didn't say she could see Russia from her house. Please except my apologizes for the error. (Something other people don't seem to have it in them to say).

You asked questions and I answered them. Is that clucking?

At least I give people the resources to allow them to see where my perspective comes from.

  • @AnEducatedYankee Perhaps you might want to give it some thought this time before casting more stones, oh ye of glass residence.

  • @buoyant69 Oh yes. Because your comments have reflected to much thought and insight.

You win. I clearly can't debate with someone of your elevated skill in belittling others while completely ignoring the issues.

I wouldn't be surprised if you work for Bachmann's campaign.

  • @AnEducatedYankee I do not work for Bachmann's campaign nor have I ever voted for her (I was a 5th District resident when I lived in MN).

As you may recall, I originally responded to your comment in which you stated that Bachmann was "out of touch with reality" and discussed fair taxation for the richest 8%.

I asked you: why just the top 8%? Shouldn't we define what "rich" is before we target people? That sent you into an "open-minded" tirade and, well, I still don't have an answer.

  • @buoyant69 If you look at a comparison of the tax rates over the past 4 decades, compared with the inflation adjusted earnings of the people paying at each tax rate, you will see that the earnings of those in the top brackets have continued to grow exponentially, while the real life earnings of people in the lower and middle class brackets have stagnated and in most cases declined.

In that same period, the tax burden on the middle class has grown, the tax burden on the upper tiers decline.

  • There has certainly been a redistribution of wealth, but it has run in exactly the opposite direction as Conservatives and their corporate overlord financiers claim.

They had their cake, ate it, cut our wages & benefits, then exported jobs.

Income disparity is foremost a symptom of a conscienceless capitalist system, which has long been encouraged to behave as such for the sake of economy.

We can however use taxation as a tool to remedy some of the worst effects of the income disparity.

  • @AnEducatedYankee You'll have to forgive me - my knowledge of Marxist principles is rather limited. All this talk about the symptoms of "a conscienceless capitalist system" has me confused: I always thought wealth and income were two different things (those crazy Econ professors... what did they know?). So is taxation just "a tool to remedy some of the worst effects of income disparity" or does it actually increase incomes for the non-rich? Or, does it even matter?

  • @AnEducatedYankee Neither Palin nor Bachmann have ever used a single reliable or credible source of data? How open-minded of you to say. My dear, unbiased friend, Palin never claimed she could "see Russia from her house" - that was a statement made by Tina Fey during a sketch where she impersonated Palin. Sarah actually stated that Russia could be seen from some parts of AK - something the constraints of geography do not preclude. Is Saturday Night Live one of your reliable, credible sources?

  • @buoyant69 well, is sarah palin never said she can see alaska from my house, then we should elect tina fey president.

  • He looks like he has a corn cob up his arse.

  • Vote Tarryl Clark the intelligent choice. Oh yea and ask Michelle about the farm subsidies she receives!

  • All these politicians in Washington, yes Bachmann are all paid by lobbyist and special interest groups, Bachmann may seem like she is against government and taxes, yet she is apart of the establishment with Obama/Pelosi/etc, the only true real person who exist in Congress is Ron Paul, he is the ONLY one! in Congress who is truly against the Federal Reserve/Establishment/etc not these fake Republican "Neo-cons fascist" and Democrat Communists.

  • that guy looks like he swallowed a very big wishbone.

  • Michelle Bachmann needs to explain her farm subsidies.

Bachmann needs to explain her hate filled speech against her political opponents.

  • @MeritisDE I've seen Bachmann speak many times. The last thing her speeches are is "hate filled". Exactly what hateful things have YOU heard her say or are you just lashing out because you don't like her?

  • Michele Bachman stands for the constitution.

Liberals are trying to act like "Its not Cool" to follow that "old document" so we must run straight for Marxism, she is a strong voice against those buffoons.

    She will win BIG!

Dried Up and tired Marxist like Barry/Pelosi will soon go down in shame in the history books as the Marxist they truly are.

  • Did pseudo-Jim ride a horse to the commercial shoot, or did he soil his pants when he realized he was being paid to endorse Crazy Shelly?

  • Bachmann? How much is it her farm gets in subsidies??? We should all hove it so good! Of course, we're not serving ourselves in DC, so what can we expect?

Michele Bachmann - 2nd amendment resolutions for lack of any better ideas.

  • Meet Jim...a paid actor. Meet me, an actual Minnesota voter that has had it with this Nazi goon.

TAXES? Is it all about taxes for you people? This nation could be under attack and all you Republicans would care about is your precious taxes. Are you all that blind with greed? Do you have any actual solutions other than serving the wealthy? This nation has serious problems and you Repubs are whining about your taxes? It is time to be part of solution...or shut the heck up.

  • Ha Ha Ha LOOK AT ALL OF THE LIBTURDS POSTING PERSONAL INSULTS ABOUT BACHMAN HERE,... its almost like they are paid to,..HMM

  • @cody34429 yes george soros pays us for every comment we post against bachmann, and ACORN is paying to fly us there on election day to vote in the names of dead people.

  • Bachmann is such a chicken shit that uses a male actor to do her mud slinging? What coward.

  • Comment removed

  • @DixonRants

Accomplishments? Did Bachmann vote to increase taxes?

  • @RogerOnTheRight Yes. Or should I say, vote against legislation that decreased taxes. An opposite to that, Clark actually gave small businesses tax cuts while in the State senate and fought for tax credits for those that couldn't afford healthcare coverage. So if I were you, I'd stop listening to the Bachmann propaganda and do some research on both sides. Clark is an amazing state senator, and I really want her to be elected. She truly stands up for Minnesotans, as opposed to Bachmann.

  • @DixonRants A vote for Clark is a vote for Pelosi.

  • @RogerOnTheRight So you are going to associate every Democrat with one person huh? I don't find Pelosi to be as bad as conservatives tend to make her, but that doesn't mean Pelosi equals Clark. The liberal portion of congress is very diverse, from the conservative Blue Dogs, to the hard-core progressives. Pelosi would probably fit in the middle. Clark possibly somewhere in the middle as well.

  • @DixonRants If you think both are in the middle, the you seem to equate them politically. Which is what I did, and to which you objected. Make up your mind.

A vote for Clark is a vote for Pelosi, it is true. And it is significant because Pelosi is Speaker of the House, and second in line to the Presidency.

But, Pelosi is no moderate. She is a far left extremist. That, plus she is pretty much nuts.

Anyone who says, "we have to pass the bill to find what's in it" is nuts.

  • @RogerOnTheRight

Pelosi's third in line. After the VP. Duh.

  • @maxsgirl452

"Duh", you say? We are discussion the line of succession to the Presidency, right? So, where does that line begin? Not with the incumbent-- he already has the job. It refers to those who follow.

I'm pretty sure Joe Biden is first in line, and as long as "second" still follows "first", Pelosi is indeed second in line.

Wait! Before you comment, please look up the meaning of the word "succession".

You care to rework your math? Then we can hear a resounding "Duh", okay?

  • Careful Jim, your gonna piss those liberals off. We all know how much the love their taxes!

  • Nice wide stance there, Jimbo.

  • What are taxes? Are they good? Are they bad? Can I eat them? Sorry, but this ad is still too advanced for me.

  • I don't know which is more offensive--the load of crap in Election Guy's pants or the load of crap between Bachmann's big ears.

  • I don't know which is more offensive--the load of crap in Election Guy's pants or the load of crap between Bachmann's big ears.

  • HA HA HA HA Look at the idiot Libturd comments here, MUCH more to come!!!!!

  • @cody34429 You can expect it. Bachmann is a charlatan and a fool

  • Every Minnesotan I've ever met has been intelligent, articulate and fair-minded. How does this dimwitted pandering fame whore manage to win elections?

  • Jim the Election Guy is an idiot. That's I-D-I-O-T.

  • Bachmann is a con artist with a boatload of cash

go to tarylclarkdotcom node 854 for undisputed facts

  • Listen close Michelle Bachmann......"Tarryl Clark is the candidate that's going to beat you!"

  • Vote Tarryl Clark the sensible, intelligent choice for Congress!

  • Is Jim getting ready to squat and take a dump? Either that or he has rickets.

  • Sure, because most evil, mean, hateful women have 5 of her own children and provide a foster home for 23 other children. What a selfish bitch.

  • Sooo....the ad for Michele Bachmann mentions absolutely none of her own accomplishments and instead immediately starts slinging mud at an opponent.

    Great decision, guys.

  • I sure like that WIDE STANCE Election Guy!

  • @MarcusBachmann What a very distasteful statement, Marcus. Do you not realize you're doing your team no favours with such a posting? Not every Democrat finds such lewd innuendo appealing.

  • @buoyant69 i found it very appealing. mmmmmm. someone talked about taking a dump in the youtube comments!!?!?! call the FCC!!

  • @milowent Wide Stance is a reference to a sexual act committed by former Sen. Larry Craig during a stopover made at MSP. Note that he resigned rather than face certain defeat in the ID Republican primary. It seems members of one of our two major parties (the party of big city, vote-delivering political machines and mayors such as Marion Berry, Richard Daley, Kwame Kilpatrick, et al) have historically been much more "tolerant" of aberrant (and often illegal) behavior than those of the other.

  • Is this guy trying to take a dump or what?

  • Michele Bachmann likes to hide behind bushes.

  • Michele Bachmann doesn't represent any sensible person in MN, all she cares about it mugging for Fox news

  • Bachmann is an evil person that is out of the loop with MN people. Just another rich bitch. She is so very hateful. Her son seems to not want to be associated with her, he seems quite nice. I bet her husband hasn't touched her in years.... I know I never would.

  • Gosh, I wish we had Bachmann in New York. Instead we're stuck with the most dysfunctional group of politicians in the country minus Illinois and Michigan, of course.
