I hope your'e correct. However, the Northwest provinces seem to be as lawless as ever. Why doesn't the government have a better handle on the situation there, with all its supposed might?

Dude people at nortwest province have their own culture and system. They r having it for thousands of years. This system is broken when some outsider invade there. Its history that whenever any invador invade them they get together and fight against it untill their last drop of blood. Its their trading and u cannot & should not change it. Those people r normal human beings with needs. But they can never allow any outsider there. So believe it or not none can win war in Afghanistan not even Pak.

I recall that area as being the way it was when Francis Gary Powers took off on his ill fated U2 flight in 1960, and I'm sure things haven't changed much. Iv'e been to some impoverished areas of the world and realize first hand that the people living there have desires and emotions like the rest of us. But Wahrziristan and its surrounding area remains the way it has because of the governments' inability to obtain an attempt of law and order. The region borders on anarchy.
