When I saw some NG clips that were shown in the end of the movie, I dropt my jaw, because I saw Michelle got hurt a lot from this scene and she felt down from the red car when they were filming.
The first time I saw this I was impressed she wasn't wearing a helmet. Then I thought to myself "she's jumping a motocycle onto a moving train. A helmet probably won't help her if things go wrong"
Michelle is so wow. If you have ever watched Police Story III than you can see two takeouts where the stunt failed. I'm so happy that everything was ok with herafter the stunts.
I know that Jackie Chan said : "There are just two women I'm afraid of - My mum and Michelle Yeoh!"
yeah...it's said tht she had nv ridden a motorbike before this...but once she started she seems to be enjoying motorbike stunts...one in "tomorrow never dies" with pierce brosnan as mentioned, & another in "silver hawk" where she literally "flew" over the great wall of china...
It is also said that she did all the stunts herself when a dupe was used for pierce brosnan in the bike scene in the james bond movie..the name i dont remember...amazing!!
She did this stunt because she wanted to show Jackie Chan that she could do stunts as well. She also stated that she had never ridden a motorbike prior to doing this stunt haha. After this movie, Jackie even acknowledged her as his equal and I think she was the only woman he has ever said that to, but I am not totally sure. Michelle Yeoh is so awesome!
I can't do it myself, but from experience and what I witnessed, that "stunt" may seem difficult for others, but that's the way all the Southeast Asians drive/ride bikes. I bet Michelle wasn't even given extra money for those tricks. Director just said, "Ok, you ride up to the top of the train...action. No! don't fall off. Do it again!"

One on Quentin Tarantino's favourite movies since 1992. The best scene ever.

What a courageous woman, and just remember that she just started out as a ballet dancer.
