Also, for Arnold to speak in defense of steroids, he would have to come up with scientific and medical proof that it is safe to use when used CORRECTLY, proof that certain deaths were not caused to steroids, etc etc...

He also studied the human body and nutrition and how to utilize them in bodybuilding, and that is also why he became so successful. Not to mention his close relationship with Joe Weider also helped him climb the ladder of success. Steroids were a big factor in Arnold's success, but it wasn't the ONLY factor.

Steroids have been around since the late 1930's. Steroids weren't unknown or understudied when Arnold was using them in the 1970's. Bodybuilders today still use them. The only time steroids are a big deal is when they are involved in sports that deal with a lot of money like football or baseball. I use o be against steroids until I did my research. Steroids should be freedom of choice.
This entire video relies upon a fallacious argument. Arnold only got away with steroid usage because he did it before it was legal. It then follows that it was OK because at the time, the risks were unknown and it was not against any established rules or laws.
This is why no one makes a big deal out of baseball stars or football athletes using steroids during that very same time frame: because it wasn't illegal, and no one knew any better.

Also, for Arnold to speak in defense of steroids, he would have to come up with scientific and medical proof that it is safe to use when used CORRECTLY, proof that certain deaths were not caused to steroids, etc etc...

Steroids weren't banned in the 70's. They were banned after the 1988 Olympics. Also, Arnold admitted to using steroids several times. He also studied the human body and nutrition and how to utilize them in bodybuilding, and that is also why he became so successful. Not to mention his close relationship with Joe Weider also helped him climb the ladder of success. Steroids were a big factor in Arnold's success, but it wasn't the ONLY factor.

It can literally change your body composition and cell makeup, not to mention associated heart disease, diabetes, stroke symptoms, alzheimers and the list goes on... and yet McDonald's burgers aren't illegal. So if steroids are for cheaters... what is for winners? Doing the same thing as everyone else. You take steroids and you're taking a gamble- but not moreso than scarffing corn fed hormone injected burgers.

yes i do have my own morals but steroids are like any other drug they have side effects. People abuse steroids thinking its a ticket to the top. all in all i really don't care if someone uses them or not i my self bodybuild naturally and i wont use steroids but if someone does decides to use them they better prepare to pay the price

Exactly most of these people hear about the propaganda the government says and believes it. The governments own witnesses at the hearings to make them illegal said they shouldn't be illegal. But I agree people should use their own morals and values not what is told to them.

Seriously i hope u fucking suffer horrific pain. Arnold had worked out for years and he trained really hard to achieve that body. It's not like many stupid people think that u take ur roids and u get as many muscles as him.
You need 100% hard training and 100% right nutrition.

I never used steriods and don't plan but seen friends take them and not workout and they pretty much just gained mass/fat. If he used them so what it was the 70's for one and second He still had the hardest work ethic out of all the other competitores! So suck a MAJOR COCK you dick!

First of all, to all those who say steriods were legal in the 70s, not so, there was never any litigation saying they were legal, neither saying they were illegal. Steroids never came into the spotlight for any to care. Secondly, he's not saying Arnold is a 'bad guy' for taking them. He isn't picking on Arnold's success either. He's just saying the type of hypocrisy America is. We look at Arnold as a hero but just about anyone else who uses roids isn't.

i disagree with this guy strongly, first off arnold is a bad guy becuase he took steroids? no. everybody builder took them in the 70s, so why did arnold win when everyone else was useing them too? maybe because he spent 6 days a week in the guy for 4 to 5 hours? hard work pays off? and arnold only got his big break for acting because they needed someone to play chonan which he did, and the movie was great thats what jump started the acting, and as far as being the govinator, beats me

I have been saying the same thing about him for years. Steroids helped make Arnold a rich & famous guy& he would not be the Gov. of Calif. w/o them. I think they should make it like alcohol and tobacco, keep it away from high school kids who are doing it just to fit in and don't know any better, but once you're an adult, worst-case scenario is you're only hurting yourself, so it should be your own choice. (No, I don't use steroids, not even creatine when I work out. It's my choice not to consume more than 1 scoop protein powder after a workout too, for my kidneys' sake, but that's just what's right for me, not that I'm a pro or anything)

Steroids have been around since the late 1930's. Steroids weren't unknown or understudied when Arnold was using them in the 1970's. Bodybuilders today still use them. The only time steroids are a big deal is when they are involved in sports that deal with a lot of money like football or baseball. I use o be against steroids until I did my research. Steroids should be freedom of choice.

This entire video relies upon a fallacious argument. Arnold only got away with steroid usage because he did it before it was legal. It then follows that it was OK because at the time, the risks were unknown and it was not against any established rules or laws.
This is why no one makes a big deal out of baseball stars or football athletes using steroids during that very same time frame: because it wasn't illegal, and no one knew any better.
Now that it is and we do, higher standards are held.
