  • I'll write part of that again. It's way too sloppy - and I apologise.

...a being who has energy such as Lester's won't be doing too much resting.

  • I can easily believe that Billy Gibbons enjoyed this band and I am utterly envious of anyone who was there!

In response to those who wish Lester to Rest In Peace...I've said this elswhere on YouTube: a being who has Lester's energy and won't be be doing too much resting. Such a person will continue to grow (spiritually) and inspire others to play music with the commitment that he had...

In other words, death is an illusion; life is an illusion. It's just a dream, like Bill Hicks said...

  • I remember sitting in the back of the King King watching the Red Devils and as I looked to my right I noticed Billy Gibbons totally getting down to the band. The Red Devils were THE best band in LA in the early nineties. Totally under appreciated...

  • Brings me back to the Monday nights of my youth. Posted up in the front booth Fosters Oil can in hand, smoking Camels and watching Lester, Dave Alvin, Bill Bateman, Johnny Ray and the Rhythm Guitarist whose name escapes me just tear it up. Watching Dave play inspired me to pick up the guitar. Thanks for the post.

  • @essesin - Anytime, enjoy!

  • i had the original...billy zoom put out king king and i cant find it anywhere..i had the whole promo, poster red devils bottle opener and cd...going to the churc original is way differant than on here

  • @MrBrianlowdown - You must be from Southern California then. I'd hold onto that promo if you still have it. I remember an old roommate of mine turned me onto them years ago - he had the CD 'King King'. I loved it! Very raw blues for a local California band....

  • We check this band out all over L.A. before Lester left us. LOVE These guys! Loved Lesters sound that was all his own crafted from the masters of the harmonica. RIP Lester!!!!!

  • thanks for posting, RIP Lester

    This really pounds!

  • @shortcreative - No problem. I'm glad you liked it!

  • I love this version of I wish you would!! Lester is the man.
