Please change that title, it's totally stupid. The child has probably a vary rare condition of leucodermia (albinism), which only effects the eyes. What makes me wonder is, that he obviously has a tapetum lucidum, which reflects the light. That's pretty astonishing! Why don't they give him fucking sunglasses?

Assuming the story is true, it sounds just like an atavism for a tapetum lucidum. An avatism (aka evolutionary throwback) is a trait that has been lost in evolution but suddenly but pops up again due to a mutation- since much of the DNA coding for it is still present. Most vertebrates have a tapetum lucidum (membrane allowing night-vision. It creates eye-shine in cats and other animals). There's a rational explanation for this. No need for magic, woo, or other kinds of supernatural nonsense.

@PBDPBD Other REAL examples of atavisms include: humans born with small, but functioning tails, extra digits in horses, extra ribs in humans, hind flippers (or even entire legs with atrophied digits) in dolphins and whales,and many more. Google "talkorigins atavisms" for detailed explanations, references, and even some neat pictures.

He describes this essence, what to see in the darkness, and even they can determine the color of the object in the dark. they are in our midst. perhaps the huge black eyes, the grays have, are not the eyes but a kind of natural sunglasses, which protects them from our white sunlight.
