We live basically in the woods, so you never know what you will find around here! We have great horned owls, but can never get them on camera. Barred owls are very active during the day. One year they tried to attack our little dog and have him for dinner when we walked him. scarey moments until they calmed down. the neighbors had cut down their tree, suspected it had babies in it, so they would almost attack us when we went out. I have to be careful.
They do keep the rats, mice and other vermin down really well. I actually seen a hawk dive down, catch a robin, and drown it in the creek one time. I was able to get a camera to get the picture just as it was flying off. I love sitting in the creek bed and watch all the creatures that drift through, just so they don't get territorial and try to attack, lol.
