They burp (if i remember correctly) because they had their wind pipes cut out so to "speak" or w/e they use their stomach, replacing their lungs hence the burping......one of the files in the game talks about it and its an oddly perfect mixture of sad and funny lol :(

sh4 the room was pretty scary for me but the nurse is where they fucked up, silent hill origins for me is still scary but not as scary as all the other silent hill games
nothing can compare to SH1 and 3... those were the games that freaked me out. 2 was alright....4....eh - I only had an issue with the ghosts -.- and yeah, the sound effects for the nurses they did fuck up.
you know ive never played silent hill 1 and i actualy realy want to, ive played each silent hill game but silent hill one its probably pretty cheap now lol
If you read up enough you can find out, but it's based on this crazy doctor who would perform terrible experiments on his patients, but would somehow reroute their throat and windpipe so that when they tried to scream, they just burped. Don't know if it's a true story or not but creepy nonetheless.

they are a different kind of scary... the only way u can compare SH is with another game thats a third person game like this... condemned has a lot of reality related scares... but imagine not being able to escape your house... thats different lol
