I have to say it must be awful performing t the blue moon restaurant. If i was there i would be yelling and clapping. Guess there must have been an ll you can et buffet that night.
I thought you were going to play words of love there at first and then you switched - to a song i like even more. What a great job you did as usual. Your videos go straight into my favourites. Thanks!
i have the same set up except i can't play that good and instead of a jumbo i have a dove i play my acoustic better than my electric but i have been playing acoustic since i was 17 i have only been playing electric for 9 yrs i grew up around my relatives listening to them play and sing but it was one charles hardin holley of lubbock tx. that got me interested in playing guitar oddly enough and not my family but i lt my family take the credit
richie what is the guitar your holding please year.. and made. in.. looks fantastic. and im so pleased you gone for maple neck..and kept it right to buddy holly than rosewood.
This is actually a Chinese-made Squier, a relatively newer line ( I think this one was made in 2008 ) called the "50's Classic Vibe." It's probably the nicest "cheap" Stratocaster you can buy, and by far the closest to a 1950's model without paying $1,000 more. It really nails the look and sound of a 1950's era Strat for a price that makes me more comfortable with taking it out and having fun with it. Buddy got his Strat stolen TWICE, and I'd rather not carry around a $1,500 guitar.
Glad to hear you found a Stratocaster! You'd be surprised to know that your Strat Plus was actually made in 1987, but for whatever reason ( this was after the CBS buyout in '85 ) some early Strat Plus models have a serial number starting with E4 which leads people to believe they're a 1984 model. The pickups on that guitar should sound pretty nice (Lace Sensors) and you'd probably find this tone with a lot of mid-range on the amp and using your Strat's middle and bridge pickup's.
