Does anyone know what Harborcoat is about ? I have a book about all their songs and Michael said this was a viscious or cruel song (can't recall his exact words). I hear the line "metal shivs on wood pushed through our backs " but other than that I don't know.

This is REM!!! Like many other groups, the music from before they broke through, is so much better. So many cult-bands break through, and then desperately try to become cult-bands again. Just look at U2....
