I use fl studio and I have the vengeance packs. For fl studio u don't really need NN-XT. You can just load the sample as a track and rig it from there. Great tutorial btw

I have a synth that's a string sound but it only plays for 3 sec and cuts out. Does anyone know how to keep it going I turned up the Decay and sustain in the amp envelops but that doesn't help.

I usually do this with a recorded vocal saying ahhh, and than making the melody, sampling it down and use tape stop effects to really get that vocal lead dutch sound :)

it seems you are only using two notes that are played on a hold ( arpeggiated(sp) ) was there a certain way to do this? i couldn't zoom in on the sequence to see if you manually just drew those in or drew one big line and thats just how it came out.

yes the EXS24 sampler in logic does as much as this sampler, the only thing a hate about the logic sampler is that when you use different notes it also time-streaches it along with the pitch. other than that it is pretty much just as good :)
