I've noticed like a water mark oil mark thingy square under my screen its the 3000 I just brought this 3 days ago and opened it today it looks like a screen protector is under it !!!! anybody noticed or has that prob?

Try loosing the screws behind the battery a bit. I had the same problem and it was due to the screws being over tight. Hope this helps

I get a discolorization with mine where in the grey or slightly moderare colors I have a blotch slightly around the perimeter of the psp screen that looks like a speech bubble.

PSP 3000 may have a brighter screen, but the quality control is horrible. I have the same problem and it also have a halo effect (look like a screen protector effect)

I have a PSP-2000 and a PSP-3000, the colours are a lot better on the 3000, but it has the same spots as on your screen! With the 2000 (3 years old) I have no problems at all!

It's a piece of dirt, Remove the faceplate then gently wipe the screen down with a soft rag

That sort of screen blemish is completely unacceptable for such a new unit I hope you got a new PSP without this issue! I have a PSP 1000 and was interested in this model but was put off by the scan line issue it sounds like that issue was really exaggerated by the gaming press.

This is not dust! Both my pearl white psp 300 had a small frame aroundthe outher edge o the screen, no its not the outer screen its nside, kinda looks like a screen protector that is not stuck on the creen at the edges. I think its a problem with the screen film underneath, p,lenty of people have this issue, google it, and no its not acceptable. The psp is suppose to be perfect. if it interferes with gameplay its a problem

Definitely dust, Sony has awful quality, you'd best remove the front plate, clean the displace then put the plate back on. If that doesn't fix it, you can buy and install new PSP LCD panels for pretty cheap.

u can make the psp read the disk slower and that will make the noise when it plays a umd not as noticible but it loads the game a little bit slower

Ok people... that dark dot happends to LCD screens and LCD monitors. its called an 'inburn blemish' and you can't get rid of it. its permanent so live with it or buy a new screen.

or better yet they got to put a oled screen instead to save extra power,weigth,to get a super sharp image & to avoid those issues.

Yea i bought a psp 3k about a month or so ago and a few weeks in had a video screen problem. First it was a straight vertical line about an inch off from the left side of the screen. Wasn't to noticable, but then had some game errors after that (games freezing up). Anyways I returned it to bestbuy the next day and they were happy to replace it with a brand new one. Im just not gonna pay for shit $200 or so and have errors a few weeks in. Overall i give props to best buy...totally chill

scratches..... well ur not storing it properly. white linings comes from smudges and moisture, if u live in the south and u wear glasses ull get em a lot. simply take a microfiber cloth and scrub a lil roughly.

p.s. the silver psp is more scratch resistant as it doesnt have the glossy clear coating.

Theres nothing wrong with the screen the little mark you're seeing is a preasure mark which occurs when something pushes down on the screen heavily. This happens to every PSP and its not a problem with the hardware. The scam line issues only occur when you're watching HD movies.

sadly this is true, tho it doesnt really bother me since HD movies takes up lots of space on your memory stick. So i dont really convert HD movies on. In Sonys press release they said that they wouldnt fix this bug.

My sister played on my PSP-1003 (British/PAL) and she put it in her bag with a lot of random crap like an LG phone and a hairbrush. Something hit the screen on my PSP and now the screen is showing the blemish with few yellow-greenish pixels in them. But the system works fine, except when I went to McDonalds and tried to use their free WiFi with the PSP, the router re-directed me to it's service's 'OMFG FREE WIFI' page. Then it crashed.

Worth getting a DSi for the internet browser for me.

well ive had my psp 3000 sence it first came out and ive had no problems with it so far because the first thing i did was to buy a crystal case and tho it maked it feall a litle hevier its still good and it weill protect your psp really good..i droped it a couple of times with the case on and it still works, the psp dosn't get scrached tho the case does..if i where you i would get the case to prevent any more screen damagee...hope it helps
