How about this, increase the rate on people making over 10 Mil a year, however, instead of he proposed 3% it has to be a higher percentage increase, perhaps 6 or 7%. @ILikeTheThingsIDo the idea that increasing tax on anyone will help anyone is insane. if you own a business any asset tied up in that business is considered taxable. so i could only have 30,000 in actual cash but have millions reinvested in my company. a lot of times the overhead in these companies is less then 7%. meaning you would be cutting if not eliminating any profit. if there is less or no profit people will be much less inclined to start businesses and there will be less jobs.

For years, 1951 to 1964, there was a very high tax rate on people who made over 3.5 million (today's money) 90% of money over 3.5 mil was taxed when America was on top of the world. The last numbers I can get are 35% on and money made over 300k in 2003. So, raise the taxes, raise the bar for who is in the highest bracket. It worked in the past and deregulation and lower taxes got us into this mess. They won't get us out.

You have absolutely NO clue what you're talking about. Wow! Try reading a history book once in a while. The Nazi didn't hyperinflate anything! The rampant hyperinflation of Germany was during the Wiemar Republic, NOT the Nazi era. Second, the United States IS NOT hyperinflating the dollar, that's just crazy Glenn Beck nonsense. The Nazi's DID NOT ration care. This is an historical LIE. Furthermore, according to Godwin's Law you LOOSE!

expect the dollar to hyper inflate? There's no way in my mind that I can POSSIBLY see a way for us to NOT get hyper inflation.
And my last point is the complete lives system. It was adopted in Nazi germany that basically gave an age group priority in health care. Would another way to put this be they rationed care for certain people? Yes, it would. Dr. Ezekiel Emmanual(sp?) is an advocate of this system.
Therefore, there will be rationing.

Short of massive reform, ELIMINIATING the government spending, not increasing. We are 12 trillion dollars in debt, with most of these stimulus bills not even hitting the economy yet. How can you

I do not like any insurance company, I have a health plan called Good Samaritan which is a christian health share group. Stuff like this is fine in the private sector, but big government is not the answer, why you would defend a a government that cannot even run a post office, and has already admitted health care in its current form is running out of money? as far as your comment on Germany, it was the Wiemar Republic yes, but look what that lead into.

@RagingLib yeah Christianity may not be about me me me. but Jesus didn't slam down your doors and order you to help others or pay the consequences. more people have risen out of poverty because of capitalism in the last 10 years then have ever risen from socialism. the idea that its a good deed to force people to pay into a system is ridiculous. helping the poor is only helping the poor if its a chioce. if its forced its just theft.

Sorry, you have to die because your boss/company is not decent enough to offer health insurance to his employees.
As for how much more would you be "forced" to pay? Nothing unless you make over 250k. Let's put it this way, would you rather your taxes go to bombs, guns, and ammo or healthcare?

@ILikeTheThingsIDo i would rather have my tax dollars go to schools cops and firemen. but hell the government cant even do that right. and no a person doesn't die because there boss is an ass or something along those lines. they die because they are sick. when did it become alright to steal from people? just because someone works extra hard and makes a good living doesn't make them any more responsible for everyone else. those people make more because they went to college and worked hard!

i would be less angry with you if you where for taxing everyone to help pay for this plan. but no it always just take from the rich. did you know that something like 80% of all the highest bracket RICH people that you want to take all this money from are struggling small business owners!!? its actually really easy to get classed as a rich person and get taxed horrendously. the more we alienate our private sector the more we will have small businesses collapsing!

@gibblets17 Increasing the tax rate on everyone succeeds in increasing the poverty level. Some people won't stay a float. How about this, increase the rate on people making over 10 Mil a year, however, instead of he proposed 3% it has to be a higher percentage increase, perhaps 6 or 7%. That way, any struggling small businessmen don't get an increase. Happy now?

@ILikeTheThingsIDo the idea that increasing tax on anyone will help anyone is insane. if you own a business any asset tied up in that business is considered taxable. so i could only have 30,000 in actual cash but have millions reinvested in my company. a lot of times the overhead in these companies is less then 7%. meaning you would be cutting if not eliminating any profit. if there is less or no profit people will be much less inclined to start businesses and there will be less jobs.

@ILikeTheThingsIDo sure even i believe that there are plenty of insanely rich fucker snobs out there, who a little bump in tax wouldn't hurt. but any attempt to go after them for that tax money will only hurt the small business class and the workers. as it currently is majority of our tax money already comes from small business! i do understand where people who say what you say are coming from. but it has been proven in the past it cant work. big government and high taxes hurts everyone!

@gibblets17 Well, letting them have free reign didn't work either. For years, 1951 to 1964, there was a very high tax rate on people who made over 3.5 million (today's money) 90% of money over 3.5 mil was taxed when America was on top of the world. The last numbers I can get are 35% on and money made over 300k in 2003. So, raise the taxes, raise the bar for who is in the highest bracket. It worked in the past and deregulation and lower taxes got us into this mess. They won't get us out.

@ILikeTheThingsIDo it was over spending that got us into this.and the federal reserve. bush lowered taxes yes. but he also went insane and spent through the roof. you cant lower taxes AND spend. its one or the other.and no business hasn't had free reign in a very long time. the federal reserve also screwed us over by messing with the housing market creating a housing bubble and bust. which is the start of all this. the only thing bush ever did right was lower taxes.

@ILikeTheThingsIDo 1951 to 1964 also saw america on top because it was one of the only countries in the world who never got bombed in world war 2. because our heavy industry was in full swing and much more advanced then almost any other country. we where fine before bush got into office and obama continued with the insanity. what we need to do is cut spending! unless you are aiming for pure socialism there is no way for big government and business to work together.

I'll ask you this, Mr. CONSTITUTION: why does the Preamble, which you apparently are so FOND of, begin with "We The People?" And the bible has PLENTY of verses about charity, if you recall: Deuteronomy 15:7, Deuteronomy 14:28-29, Deuteronomy 15:11, Leviticus 19:10, and Leviticus 23:22. And I have plenty more if those aren't enough.

The Nazis DID hyper inflate their money. He's not comparing democrats to Nazis. But, as someone who has their B.A. in economics (& history) I have to say that hyperinflation occurs when inflation exceeds 50% a month (which isn't happening). Are there minor parallels between Obama and Hitler? Sure, but that's usually the case with ANYTHING in history. The fact is, Obama & Hitler are more different (not similar). Try comparing & CONTRASTING history for once. Also, it's "you're delusional," not "your," get an education.

Alot of the Founders didnt have formal educations but yet wrote brilliantly our Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Declaration. We are hyper inflating the dollar slowly but surely. They cant do what they want over night and have admitted that. It has to be done over time. It will happen to extreme, it just takes time.

Beck did not say it would happen overnight. Its a slow process the eats away at the Constitution, the free market system, and capitalism. The health care bill is nothing but socialism. Over one TRILLION dollars. How do you pay for that? Print more money like we're doing? And or ration health care. What the Nazis did.

Thats where rationing care comes into play. The Nazis exterminated tens of thousands of people who were disabled because there life was up. They cost to much to care for. @ruzzzzanoob you really think the same thing is happening to the American dollar as was happening in Germany? Under the Weimar Republic, inflation was so bad that workers had to leave half-way through the day to go buy food. If they waited until the end of the day their daily wage would be virtually worthless. Eventually they couldn't print money with enough zeros on the bill. It was more like Zimbabwe than the US. And the Germans didn't want this. They were forced to pay reparations after WW1.

@ruzzzzanoob in order to pay those reparations which were totally unfair, WW1 was not directly Germany's fault and even if it was they couldn't pay to rebuild every other country. So the government just kept printing money because they couldn't afford to pay these reparations. This is what collapsed the German economy. The Nazis had nothing to do with it, they were just the opportunists that came along later to take advantage of people's fear and anger. Sort of like Republicans.

The NHS in the UK is in an appalling state. The drug companies dominate the system.
Hospitals are grim and dirty. Waiting lists are basically swindled.
Staff who whistleblow on disgusting treatment of patients have their professional registration revoked and are no longer permitted to practice.
Lucrative senior posts are created for cronies whilst services are desperately short of staff to deliver services.
It's all very corrupt - and people in the system dare not speak of it.

And beofre you say well taxes pay for it, well yes they do but Americans already put $19bn dollars into healthcare, before insurance costs, whilst in the UK the level is $14bn. The US has a population approx 5 times the size of the UK -so not a fair comparison.
That said, I don't doubt that you pay more for health care but I would urge great caution against opting for a health service run by the government.
The NHS is corrupt. I work across health +social care sectors +observe the corruption every single day. Treatment is often shoddy +life threatening.
Auditors have lost powers that they previously had +actions not been allowed 10yrs ago are now common practice.

@RagingLib the uk monitors its citizens so closely its not funny. they don't let their citizens take pictures of anything anymore. police brutality is on the rise. they are monitoring their trash over there. we are not defending the insurance companies! Current legislation allows for insurance companies to have monopolies on the state level. If it weren't for government insurance companies would have to compete thus lowering prices and improving care.
