FDX does not provide studded snow tires. It does provide chains. And in select areas 4WD vehicles. But they are the exception, not the norm. The time it takes to put chains on and off counts AGAINST you. It's considered non productive time and negativity impacts your routes statistics for the day, months. most drivers don't bother. And do what this driver did. And it's a rare day that FDX will cancel operations in the winter. FDX driver risk life and limb to deliver your goods.
Fed Ex obviously couln't give a shit about their staff sending them out in vehicles in snow storms. its not about these guys being dedicated, its about them being told IF you don't get your ass in the truck go get another job. A Fed Ex employee risks his life so some fucker taking the day off because of the weather can watch his DVD's ordered from Amazon. I would say Fed Ex is a pisspoor Employer
These things are pieces of shit in the snow. I've gotten stuck in 1/4" of snow in a flat parking lot. They do good donuts though. A lot of times with the way the job goes, its better to put up with situations like this than to put the chains on.
You're right they should. I walked out to see if the guy was okay becuase he eventually got so stuck that he needed a tow. I couldn't even walk without slipping. He eventually got towed out though.
I would normally agree with you, but this place religiously discriminated against me and payed me less for it. I can't hold a grudge anymore, but I no longer work there. Why work for a company of people who cares more about money than personal freedom of religion? It's ok, they'll fall apart on their own, and everybody will find new jobs and be happy finally.
mostly that's true. except when the salaries get cut, the pensions disappear, and the employees are treated like crap by their employer. we had no recourse, fedex express isn't union.
The tires on my car are bigger than those on the truck. Lol

Maybe it's you and your attitude. Any company is what the employees make of it.
