These cars differentials are more geared for higher Autobahn speeds. Speeds we don't normally use in the US or NA. My 740iL has a 293 dif a more appropriate 315 or even a 364 would make it much quicker 0-60. Though that would be sacrificing fuel economy.
VERY early auto M30 cars came with a 3.64:1, mid run 3.91:1, and late a 4.27:1, manual always had the 3.64:1
M60s had the 2.93:1 due to the introduction of the five speed automatic. Chip it and degree the cams like the E38 cars and you will be surprised at the gains in power, even with the 2.93:1
Early M70 cars had the snooze 3.15:1 then the late received the 3.64:1. Main issue with the M70s are the lack of true WOT until 4000rpm

There is no comparison. Straight line on motorway & you'd be toast. You won't see 140Mph+ as quick as me either.

I won't argue if it was 7.9 or 7.8 but I've definitely done close to 7.5 sec before.
I've never had a problem losing a 525i but the 735i is now an E38 740i
Yes it was chipped or remapped by logicautomotive in Newcastle. He's an UPsolute agent. Definitely made a difference right through the rev range. I had an E34 520i 24v done by them too & it was so nice to drive. Better torque (Which it lacks) midrange was lovely & top end had a little extra ooomph ;)
I recommend UPsolute chip tuning. Make a real difference especially in Turbo's. I'm scrapping the E34 so does anyone want the ECU??? ;)
Totally worth the performance gains. The fuel economy improved also. I sold the whole car for €200!!! The guy got a bargain. Would make a great beginer drif car or even a track car if you stripped it out.

Sorry I never seen your reply. I got this 735i instead. I wanted low down power, automatic & more comfort ;o)
I've got an E38 740i now. A totally different animal. I would love an E32 740i or 750iL though. A proper luxury classic ;o)
