I would add that slow explorations of key signature and mode are ultimately useful, and help you figure out compositions you might want to record.
As others have said here, think of a subject or mood. Use a modality or tonality that really speaks to it. Then go from there. It sounds formulaic, but it really isn't, Everyone was saying that every piece of music that could be written, HAS been written.

First, SLOW DOWN--folks wanna hear EVERY NOTE. It makes no sense to get your shred on if all we hear is clipped static.
Second, SPEAK WITH THE NOTES. Part of playing is to use your own voice on the guit. That's why three people playing through the same guit and rig sound completely different.

I will say this: not bad, not bad at all. Though learning more arpeggio patterns and possibly sweep picking are musts. Good job though, your fingers are pretty damn fast.

Something cool to try would be pinch harmonics and bends...really make the guitar wail! HA HA! And if your nails are long enough, I've seen them used for some killer harmonic sounds! Keep it up Foxey Lady

I dont know if it is bad sound quality or not, but it sounds terrible. Also, as a side note solos should should have rythm as riffs do, use a metronome or something, and just because someone can shred non melodic solos doesnt mean they are good, thats why all the greats are GREAT(kinda cheesy I know), like Dimebag, Kirk Hammet, Jimmy Paige, etc. Btw, great guitar! Drop some mids on the high gain and rip the bar, you'll thank me!

how long have you been playing? Not meaning to criticize but that sounds novice, not really a "shred" solo, or even a solo for that matter. You need to work on arpeggio patterns and learn to tap over stretches, i can send you some exercise tabs if you want.

She certanly has my attention.
Her weakness is aimless soloing , but thats also a great strength

I think you have alot of potential, but I think (at least from this vid) that you are trying to go too fast too soon.
remember that speed isnt everything, especially if you dont have clarity.
work on making the notes clear and then work on the speed and it will sound alot better

I will say this: not bad, not bad at all. Though learning more arpeggio patterns and possibly sweep picking are musts. Good job though, your fingers are pretty damn fast.

Something cool to try would be pinch harmonics and bends...really make the guitar wail! HA HA! And if your nails are long enough, I've seen them used for some killer harmonic sounds! Keep it up Foxey Lady

thanks for the advice,is always appreciated :) but i do actually know some scales,i think i just need to stick within them instead of playing whatever really,i tend to just play on instinct or just play anything and if i think its okay then great ,its more fun that way lol and but saying that, since this vid was done I think my improv skills have improved?!..i hope so anyway lol

I dont know if it is bad sound quality or not, but it sounds terrible. Also, as a side note solos should should have rythm as riffs do, use a metronome or something, and just because someone can shred non melodic solos doesnt mean they are good, thats why all the greats are GREAT(kinda cheesy I know), like Dimebag, Kirk Hammet, Jimmy Paige, etc. Btw, great guitar! Drop some mids on the high gain and rip the bar, you'll thank me!

okay, fair enough you are entitled to your opinion and I respect that :) but yeah it is really bad sound quality,however i also agree and understand what your saying,i do need to start using a metronome to improve my playing and such..thanks for the compliments on my guitar and for the advice/suggestions really do appreciate constructive criticism :)

how long have you been playing? Not meaning to criticize but that sounds novice, not really a "shred" solo, or even a solo for that matter. You need to work on arpeggio patterns and learn to tap over stretches, i can send you some exercise tabs if you want.

just connect your amp to the "line in" on your computer and record the video with a webcam or something and it sounds better thats what I do :P

Yeah,there is sound, just need to turn it up quite a bit, as the volume is pretty low,or check out my latest vid,as its very similiar to this and has better sound :)
