B-24 bombers fly to Burma and attack enemy airfield

My late Grandfather's Liberator during WWII was EW284/Q of No. 215 Squadron. Royal Air Force. Bengal, India October 1944 He was in the Top Gun turret of these great planes

My great uncle had been invalided out of Burma to India - I always remember him telling me that he was staying near to a U.S airfield and saw the terrible sight of a B-24 taking off - fully loaded and not gaining height. He said he could see the crew throwing everything out to lighten the load but it still went down with everyone aboard.

My grandfather was a navigator in polish specjal mission squadron in Royal Air Force during Warsaw Uprising. Nice to see this mashine. An american plane is a part of polish aviation history.... Good luck, bombers;-)

Nice video.My father in law was a tail gunner at this time. Could be one of the planes is his. He flew out of Lido, India over Burma road a lot.
