  • Let us not forget that their are still high and low glycemic levels one should consider with any fruit or vegetable, controlling insulin on a raw food diet is still something to take a closer look at.

  • WARNING: The 801010 diet is a niche marketing fad that people like Harley Johnstone and Doug Graham are promoting for both financial gain and to satisfy their blind belief that nature is wrong and that we are supposed to eat only fruit and greens. It is an extremely deficient diet which poses very serious long-term damage including brain atrophy. Durianrider is a prime example of this. If you want to do it to yourself, that's your choice. But do not do it to your children, please!

  • @not801010 what do you mean with "nature is wrong" ? Is it nature to eat other humans because you don't have anything else to eat? Yes that's nature but it doesn't mean that we are supposed to eat humans.

    Hard to believe that Harley (Durianrider), who is eating fruits for years and setting one PR after the ohter should be deficient. Also it seems to me that Harley is very awake and has a sound mind. Where's the brain atrophy here?

  • I am the 4th week into the fruit now and i have melonbelly everytime i eat. Doesn't matter what fruit it is. This morning i drank 1 liter of water, waited 20 minutes an then ate 2 mangos. Guess what, hardly any mellonbelly. Your tips are the real deal Harley. It works. Thank you bro !

  • @lifez33 I live with someone who weighs more than me but eats less calories (we use Cronometer).

    I was sedentary from '99-2002 due to injury. I didn't gain weight. I now exercise and weigh 5 lbs more, eating less calories (fruit-based) (the 5 lbs still isn't fat)

  • What a crock! Fruit didn't give you a flat stomach. You leave out the 1000+ miles per month you ride your bike. If you're going to pass your advice along, provide the viewers with complete information!

  • @sjagain Err um then how come not all cyclists that ride 1000miles a month look like me then lol! I filmed this vid at the end of a 2 week break from cycling. Literally ZERO miles for 2 weeks as an end of year break.

    Your full of excuses why you cant be super fit and eat right bro. What about Freelee, she runs 3 times a week, hasnt cycled for 10 months and eats 3kcals from fruit daily. How is that explained? You dont have to train high volume if you stay hydrated, eat right, get sleep etc.

  • @durianriders Err um...I ride for the University of Texas Cycling team in Austin...Lance Armstrong regularly trains at our facilities, and rides with the team, so fitness isn't my problem. There isn't a single riding coach at this university or in the entire WORLD who would advocate this kind of diet for training, or competing PLAIN and SIMPLE!

  • @sjagain The point is: fruit doesn't inherently make you fat. I have low body-fat. I never do aerobics; I've eaten 17 servings of fruit for the last 17 years (the 'Fit-for-life' diet)

  • @Gary1111001 A calorie is a calorie no matter where it comes from! A sedentary lifestyle make you fat, even on a low fat fruit diet. If you're eating 17 servings of fruit everyday, you may not be doing aerobics, but you're damn sure not sitting on your ass all day!

  • @sjagain We always here obese people say they only get 1700 calories. That's proof that calories in/out is not the end-all. There's also imbalances (from junk-food), bad digestion (from junk-food) , bad combinations (SAD diet), deficiencies (lack of fruit and veg) and starvation mode (from calorie restriction).

  • you are fit... no doubt... But say you changed ur workouts up.. If you sprinted, bench pressed, squatted, and did plyometrics, would your body develop like the body of a power athlete, or would u still stay small and lean because of your diet?

  • @MmaNcovers Id be a competitive power athlete like my other vegan mates that train for that. I prefer the ultra stuff though. Still, I dont know many people that can out bench me.

  • @durianriders What do you mean by out bench you? Do you mean not many can rep their own body weight like you can or just lift as much weight as you can? I"m slowly decreasing my animal protein intake, only problem is i'm allergic to green peas, and peas and beans are a good source of protein. I don't know if i will go full vegan though. It seems like doctors and nutritionist recommend a balanced diet.

  • @durianriders My argument wasn't with a vegan diet, it was with YOUR diet! Danzig is a vegan, but doesn't RELATE to your way of thinking in the slightest! See: AGGRESSIVE STRENGTH NUTRITION ARTICLES: UFC Fighter Mac Danzig's Vegan Diet, By Mac Danzig.Brown Rice: My main sources of complex carbs along with Oatmeal. Tempeh: A little bitter when eaten plain. Quinoa, Black Beans, and lentils. Really, many Mexican foods I find to be pretty substantial as long as there's some beans and rice in it.

  • @durianriders More Danzig diet from the same article: Vegetables: These are very necessary. I don't eat them as much as I should, but when I do, it's broccoli, peas, corn, green beans and spinach most of the time. Whenever I have a salad, I do my best to use organic kale or baby spinach as the main source rather than romain or iceberg lettuce. The leafy greens like collards, spinach and kale are extremely good for you.

  • @durianriders And more: Supplements:Vega : This is awesome. It has everything I need and it's quick and easy. Although not ideal, I could really live off of this with no problems. Full nutrition. Vega makes powdered whole food meal replacements and energy bars that I eat pretty much every day. Their meal replacement uses hemp protein and pea protein as a base. When I'm taking this and/or The Ultimate Meal (see below) I find there's no reason for a multi-vitamin.

  • @durianriders And more: The Ultimate Meal : I swear by this stuff, it's a whole meal and has made up a huge part of my diet for 3 years now. (This is not your normal "add powder to water" supplement). Organic food bar : These are great for cutting weight... there is some fat but it's good fat, and there's hardly any sodium. Cliff Builders Bar : As far as protein bars go, these are the best tasting and pretty addictive.

  • @durianriders And finally: Danzig does NOT use FRUITS in order to get ANY significant amounts of his calories while training, AND uses supplements which you CLAIM you're against, so using him as your vegan athlete example was a POOR choice. Funny thing is, EVERY one of my coaches would recommend a similar diet as Danzig's.

  • I totally agree! I have a few family members who as soon as they eat fruit they vomit it right back up and this is a result, I tell them, of never eating fruit. I tell them to eat it anyway to get use to it, but they do not want to listen.

  • what if you're part of a meat-eating family, everyone eats like crap, and there's no way to convince them to convert over to raw or even healthier foods? i can't afford to eat raw or even vegan on my own. i have a future goal to grow my own fruits and veggies when i move out and have my own job

  • I love your videos and I try to eat raw more and more. I have a question about the glycemic index: All fruits have a GI very low except bananas and dates, they are generally advised against diabetics. Should you balance their GI with eating others fruits at the same time or it's no matter when you are vegan? What do you think? I hope my english is comprehensible, I'm french... Thanks, xo :)

  • Yuo travel a lot- how do you deal with the jet lag and getting your sleeping hours where you want them- I have had a sleep disorder for most of my life really but especially in the past 10 years- I cant sleep untill late then I only sleep for a few hours- then I wake up- but I cant fall back asleep- but I'm still very tired then I have to take a nap in the middle of the day- then I cant sleep again at night-

  • Never heard of 'melon belly' but I'm assuming it's referring to the same issue I have if I eat lots of watermelon that is too cold. It will get me every time. Make sure the melon is only cool, not cold, or better yet room temperature and try to eat more slowly. If I do this then I can eat a half a large watermelon no problems.

  • Your built exactly as my husband was six years ago back when he was a tour guide in New Orleans. He's 5'11 and was 140lbs. He was thin yet ripped as heck. He used to walk for about four hours everyday because of the job and he also ate like a horse! Now he's sedentary as he works in the I.T. field behind a computer all day. He eats less, no more exercise. He used to seriously resemble your build....but the change in lifestyle has changed his body.
