What the fuck is a quid? And a bob. And for that matter a sixpence? Is a bob a quid? And are both of those pounds? Furthermore, if a pound is a quid, and all quids are bobs, then are all bobs pounds?
Ok..i have an epiphone les paul standard in vonage sunburst with the only difference it being plain top instead of plus top, used with a marshall 45W MG... Why doesn't mine sound like that?!
@xEnZoProDucTioNz YES Gibsons are excelent, but it depends, if u feel attached to it in some way or are a guitare player then the guitar u mentions is definitely worth keeping, but if u get it done up it could go for a few grand at least, probably sinificantly more
Ive got one exactly like that the body sorry , it was my great grandads , he bought it then gave it to his son etc , its extreamly old though, theirs age markes everywhere , the paint ripped off all the wiring still works though , it says "Gibson Les Paul Model" and its beautiful i'd say it wa smade 1956-1960 maybe , thats what my dad says...is it worth keeping and are gibson guitars good? thanks!!
@hipidude12 well it depends on what amp you have settled on. If you need the marshall sound in a pedal then check out the range of Wampler pedals. There's a few different Wamplers that specifically sound like various Marshall Amps like the Plextortion (JCM800) Plexi Drive (JTM45) and so on
no the epiphone doesnt only feel worse it looks worse too... there's something that i cannot specifically pin point that differs on the original gibson... maybe its just because quality material looks like its quality material know what i mean..?
And in a funny way usually just by looking at a guitar you can tell how its gonna sound.... i mean you just look at a gibson les paul and you kNOW....
to play like slash you have to play slowly and only pentatonic stuff. Chappers slow down, your not trying to entertain people here, your imitating slash. just power chords now, lol.
I really want to get the Slash's tone, but I do love playing Metallica. What is the better one? Epiphone Les Paul Standard (the video's one) or the Epiphone Les Paul Tribute? I am needing some help :x
@david2545 i know what you mean. After I posted that comment I immediantly tried to find the tone myself and after half an hour I got it, and I never got frustrated. CHeers, JImmi.
I have an 88 LP with Seymour Duncan Alnico II pups and a Haze and the similarity in tone to Slash is remarkable.
I love the Haze. Perfect for club gigs. It has a great tone, especially lushed with a TS-9. I sold my Epi Elitist when I got the Gibby and the Elitist is also better than the Standard Epi.
that´s a very cool gear for that cheap budget! I got to be honest i wasn't expected to notice that difference between the gibson and epiphone! What's the difference between the haze and the Ma? why did you choose the haze? cheers
@alapunk13 Some times - but not all the videos are about making sales - mostly we're just having some fun & trying to get across that coming to Andertons is a fun experience. I've done a couple of QVC style videos recently where we've had some kind of killer clearance deal - they worked quite well. Cheers, Lee
i believe that if youre shooting for a certain artist's sound you should aim for the original early gear he was using before the success and the endorsements...and the signature models of amps and guitars etc....
PLUS dont forget that signature models are just emulators...and they are not emulating gear like strictly guitar and amp but they emulate recording techniques, vintage mics, certain ambiance of a room probably demolished decades ago....tha analog simplicity of tape.know what i mean??
@AndertonsMusic@alapunk13 Well I'm loyal to Andertons because of these videos. Even in the days when they used Shitty-link to ship things and it was a total nightmare, I still bought my things of Andertons because they make these awesome video's. Now that they use UPS and have great prices.. They're basically the best music shop in the UK!
@n00bHunter07 Yeah, we were surprised just how much difference there was between the two guitars - but we kept reminding ourselves that there is a 3 grand price difference & the epiphone was still a great guitar for the money. We've already done a "sound like brian may" video, and we'll do another couple next month. Not sure who yet - maybe evh, morello, Hendrix, not sure! We'll see who is most asked for over the next 2-3 weeks. Cheers.
They should make another one like this, but Jimmy Page :D
