  • Comment removed

  • Lay off your fucking noise gate. JESUS.

  • what are you using for your distortion ???

  • wow sounds shit

  • Doesnt Misha from Periphery use that in the the jetpacks was yes vid but a six string version

  • @HappyDictator Yes, Misha ordered a custom Bernie Rico Jr. for himself that he was playing before they made the music video.

  • oh man thats sick dude. hey i was wondering i live like an hour away from axe palace. do they let you play the gear? If so i def wanna go it seems like it would be the best day i'd have in a while.

  • 2:25 best djent song haha

    does not exist in white?

what about the neck ? is comfortable? fast?

  • holy shit, that tone is beastly

  • how much do these guitars cost?

  • @urinalcakesaretasty all depends.....from $2500 to $5000. But..... well worth it. Bernie custom made me one with:

1 tone, 1 vol, 3 way select, emg pa-2 pre-amp, Emg 707tw's, arcade push button for a kill switch "like buckethead", my initials on the 12th, and a blood splatter finish. the guitar is the exact same as the one this guy is playing.

    all for $3040

  • Nice ass tone bro

  • Is that a Bugera 6262?

  • ayayay.. love d tones....

  • Well

I have ordered a Rico and WILL NOT be selling it!

I guess that means I have more $ HA HA

  • @HillaryHitler why DO you care haha

  • @HillaryHitler the question i have is WHY the fuck do you care so much?

  • Why do so many people have custom guitars for sale? I plan on a Rico myself, but would never sell it.

  • @HillaryHitler cause they need the money. im sure when ur older and have ur finances intact, its easier to own a custom guitar

  • @FreeByrd007 its not a jersey, its a shirt by the band Periphery

  • This is one of few videos I've seen of experiencing well executed 'djent' right off the bat, that thing really is capable of great dynamics in riffs! Sorry if I'm missing something, but what amp is that? Looks like a 6505?

  • @prydogga thank you!

    yes a 6505+

  • SWEET FUCKING GEAR DOOD!!

  • I can double check the nut size later, but I'm selling this awesome guitar only because I can't afford to keep it because of school tuition! It's in mint condition , message me for a price $1000+ less then Rico, no 8-10 month wait time, and basically new!

  • What's the nut size on that guitar? 48 mm or smaller?

Any downsides to the guitar at all? Thinking of ordering one just like it.

  • @MustGroove76 it is actually for sale! message me if your interested!

  • Ahhhhhh the Djent :)

  • hey man i was wondering what are your settings on the amp??? and great playing!!

  • wow. why does that sound so bad? I just watched Keith Merrow video and it was sick.

  • @BrianKeeley to each their own.

keith merrow records his guitar direct through an axe-fx and mixes/masters to make a the song. this video is live tone video with a digital camera....

  • How much for the axe?

  • Hey there. Just got my 6505+ and am considering an MXR 10band in the loop. The tone I get out of it is just too fizzy for me. How much difference did the 10band do? Others swear by that combination.

Also, great playing. Periphery kicks ass.

  • the mxr is great and makes the amp sound awesome, but i have opted to not include it in my rig anymore - it adds wayyy too much noise due to the amp having a quite noisy fx loop to start with.

if your getting a ton of fizz, cut back your gain to 5-6 max, turn down the presence and highs to around 5-6, and make sure your mids arent at 0...

  • The noise could be a concern. I'm not using a gate infront of it yet, since I dont crank it often and have no need to. My mids are at a healthy 6-7, my pressence is low and highs around 4. Could be my pickups. Getting a pair of actives in an ax soon, so perhaps I should see if that solves it. But otherwise, how does the eq work at tightening up the lowend? I find it to be a bit "flubby" at times.

  • eq can be good for tightening, sure, but I personally used it just as a strict tonal-eq. What you should rly invest in is an overdrive pedal to throw in front of the amp, rly tightness and compresses things in an essential way.

  • @joeyinflames hey man could describe your eq i obessed with djent tone?

  • Hey man. Any way you could tell me how long it took to get to you after you placed the order?

  • roughly 5 months

  • Rico guitars are godlike... but... expensive.. wish i was rich ;P

  • Icarus FTW

  • Joey, is the neck on your Bernie thinner and flatter than a Schecter 7-string neck? What is the exact model name of your guitar? Is it just Jekyll 7?

  • the neck is much much better then any schecter neck I have played. Yes it is a Jekyll 7 String

  • What give you this fucking attack when you pick strings ? Do you use a compressor or something ? Or is it only the sound of your guitar and your amp ?

  • no compressor, but the eq is set to have some low mids cut and some high mids boosted; adds to the pick attack and percussive clarity

  • Sounds like a dog barking when you're chugging...mean as hell!

I'm talking to Nick these days about ordering a lefty Bernie Rico 7-string axe...man, I can't wait!

The neck looks small and fast :-)

  • Good stuff, man. Very heavy sounding guitar, the tone kicks ass too. I dig the Periphery shirt as well, fantastic fuckin' band. What tuning are you in?

  • this is drop Ab

  • do i leave the od pedal on even when im in th disrortion channel? and one last thing then i promise to stop bugging you :p wt other pickups could help with the tone

    thanks

  • Hi,

How's the neck on that guitar? Thin and fast like Ibanez and Jackson 7-string necks?

  • awesome. not quite like an ibanez, but its a good neck.

  • got a LTD 207 and the ENGL is quite high gain so i never thought about buying an overdrive pedal. tuning i use is Bb F Bb Eb Ab C F. Any ideas ( btw i really appreciate you coming back to me on this iv wanted a tone like yours since i first got my ENGL a year and a half ago.)

  • no problem dude. pick up an overdrive pedal, it is key. grab a maxon od808, run the gain on 0, level anywhere from 60% and up, tone at or preferably below half. run your amp with settings to taste, but keep the gain at about halfish (not too much) should give you a ballpark tone :) pickups are key too, emgs should work if you already have them, but if not, i can recommend a ton of djenty ones.

  • go for it. i have tried for too long to get that tone. i have an emg 81 in the bridge and 85 in the neck. what sort of settings should i put in the amp and eq pedal (got a boss ge7 but thinking of getting a maxon after hearing yours) thanks

  • the eq is decent, mine is an mxr (in the loop) on the eq, leave most of the sliders at the neutral position, lower the 250 hz a little and raise the 2 khz a little, but u may not even need an eq in a fireball. definitely test it in the loop though. the maxon (if you get one) should be the first thing you plug your guitar into, then into (a noisegate, then) the amp. the 81 will for sure work for djentyness, but there are much better out there IMO.

  • shit that tone is amazing what you got in your signal chain i got a orange 2x12 V30's and an ENGL fireball and really want a djent tone. any ideas how do u get such a djenty tone?

  • what kind of guitar and tuning do you use? also, do you use an overdrive pedal and noise gate?

  • CRISP!!!

  • haha thanks man? haha

  • Yeah, of course! It just sounds very crisp, and clear. I've been thinking about getting a Bernie Rico Jr., a used BlackMachine(probably never gonna happen),Caparison, or a KxK, have you had any experience with any of the ones listed?

  • How's the upper fret access?

  • neckthru, so the access is awesome

  • amazing guitar....how do you feel about the warpig

  • its really cool for sure!

  • shocking racket

  • Thank you so much djentle-men sir.

Such a perfect tone. how do you like the warpig in the mahogany?

  • its great, but the guitar is a maple neck-thru so a ton of the body tone is actually maple. Thats why the warpig does so well here - its such a naturally dark pup that the maple balances.

  • Thanks man!

The cab has one v30 and one g12k100. My ts9 is set as a clean boost (drive at 0, level at 7ish, tone at 4ish) The eq is boosting the upper mids and cutting the lower mids but both very minimally--not much is needed for the clarity it adds.

I have since retuned my guitar to standard as I have found I'm not as creative in open octave drop tunings, but regardless this guitar sounded great in drop Ab!

  • Fuck me.

I have found the exact tone i have been hearing in my head.

What speakers are in your avatar?

And what frequencies are your boosting/cutting on the mxr?

    A reply is hugely appreciated?!

    Thanks.

  • I'm curious what's your example of amazing digital camera recorded YouTube tone? The tone from my rig is absolutely monstrous in person

  • such gear and still shity distortion...

  • Nice dude \m/
