  • They are good knives... however they have a simple lock system and are very lightweight; I sometimes wonder if the lock would hold up in a situation where you performed a thrust cut into bone or some other solid material. Any one have a guess or experience with it?

  • @1dducks:

    Yellow :)

It is a lightweight folder with pretty decent size.

Would it hold what you want? Dunno ;) See my other films :)

I don’t think it was designed as a ultimatetacticalfightingfolding knife ;) but in my case the lock worked just fine. There is also a version of sog flash 2 with full aluminum handle.

    Cheers

  • I have one of the very first SOG Flash II's sold in Phoenix. A drop of good gun oil every now and then and keep it sharp and it's just keep working and working. As for the play in the blade, my knife has no play in any direction. The only feature I don't like is the pocket clip. For me, it's on the wrong end of the knife. I would like it a whole lot more if I could move the clip to where I wanted it. Otherwise, it's a pretty decent knife for the money.

  • ha thats my dads fave song

    nice knife dude

  • Swing a flash 2 downward and it will open by itself.

Not sideway just downward. Good for a bit of the old ultra-violence.

  • thAts from a clockwork orange

  • lol Dubliners - Whiskey in the jar. Awesome song. I was thinking about buying the knife right now. Seems pretty good.

  • Sorry. But the music was tourcheing me lol.

  • @askAlanNow Screw you! That's newfie music mate, you'd be shot sayin' that where I'm from.

  • @DarkStar851 Alabama. Jk dont take it to seriously. Plus what kinda phycho would shoot you beacause you have different music tastes.

  • @askAlanNow Oh, haha sorry to sound critical - it's kind of an expression around here. You'd be heavily scolded. :P

  • Thanks for the vid, but I hope that clip is reversible as it's in the wrong position for a right-handed user. Flipping the clip around would (1) make it safer for in-pocket carry and (2) make it easier to open as you can brace your fingers against the clip.

  • As you can se, I'm right-handed and this is the perfect location for the clip: it doesnt hurt the hand when you hold the knife, it's safe to carry the knife in the right rear pocket and it doesnt collide with the finger when unlocking the blade. And yes: you can mount the clip on the left or right side.

  • "As you can se(e), I'm right-handed and this is the perfect location for the clip..."

We can all see it's on the wrong side for right-handed carry. Don't compound one mistake (clip on the wrong side) with a second (telling us some story about that being the correct side). If you like it this way, just say so. No big deal. Carry it any way you want. Just don't insult us by serving up BS and expecting us to buy that it's steak...

  • Can someone answer my a questions. I just got my Sog Flash II aluminum handle in the mail today (bought new on ebay) and I absolutely love it except for one small thing. It feels really solid and put together but when its closed there is a sound like something is rattling around in there...has anyone else experienced this or is this not normal?

  • nice back ground music does some body know what band or song it is?

  • The Chieftains "Whiskey in the jar" :)

  • i have the same knofe you gotta love "SOG".Knifes..i was the same the first day i got mines...hehhehe

  • Its tough to find this specific model (Flash2) with a straight edge at any of the retail stores. I have the partially serrated version and as good as it is I wish I got a straight blade as I honestly do not like the SOG serrations. But for the price this knife can not be beat. Good demo.

  • glad you got the straight edge. How do you like it. I've had my sog flash II straight edge black zytel for about a week and really like it. I'm going to try to sharpen it a bit. Probably would have bought it with aluminum handle, but I don't think it comes with aluminum AND straight edge combo

  • A little up and down play is normal in most lock knives.Side to side play can usually be tightened by the Torx screw on handle. If the play is excessive, send it back to factory for replacement.

  • hey to the guys that have had a SOG Flash 2, when you bought your knife did it have some blade play in any direction??? because mine did up down and side to side but when i tightened it it fixed the side play but not the up and down(btw up and down is very miniscule like 1 or 2 mm). If some one knows how to fix this can you help me plz!

  • Mine had play up and down and side to side.

Although it worked just fine. My friend has the same in his flash 2.

If the lock holds I wouldn't bother the blade play.

  • @Counterstrkielover Yup same issue with mine, they all do it. The other commenter is right. Leave it alone or send it back to SOG for adjustment.

  • Nice knive & background music...Dubliners I believe.

  • ooh tigerstripe :)

  • sorry topo meridian

  • I have had this knife for a year. its amazing. and by far one of the sharpest knifes i own. Im trying to pick up a sog topo maridian. another amazing sog. just great knives.

  • whiskey in the jar...

i love sog knives. i have a trident tanto. its awesome

  • Nice video. It is a good demonstration of the knife.

I really wish more people would put up videos like these.

  • I have a flash II, except it has a black handle and a tanto blade.

  • nice knife, i was thinking about getting that same model. thanks
